Mousefest question

OK - I am planning on being at this years Mousefest - and as usually occurs - I will be teaching the Saturday of Mousefest. Usually I go down to WDW on Sunday or Monday - meet with some folks, tour on my own, Mousefest on Wed - Friday and go home Friday night so I can teach on Saturday....

Now -- this year I was THINKING about coming down on Wed - stay through Friday evening (keep my room??/maybe not) - drive home, teach Sat am and drive back to WDW. I would be too late for mega Mouse... such is life - missed another one - but then stay from Sat pm - Tuesday. Maybe check into a new resort for part two???

Which would you do if you lived 2.5 hours from WDW and had a no get out of commitment for Sat morning?

If your only commitment is Sat. a.m., then I would leave Fri. night and come back Sat. afternoon. The drive isn't that bad from Jacksonville and this way you can attend as much of Mousefest as possible.

I agree with DoraDoug. I would head off late Friday night (Say after a meal and maybe either Wishes or Fantasmic which should be around 7pm) and then sleep the night in my own bed at home and head back after teaching.

As far as keeping the room... ifyou are happy to pay for it and not sleep in it I would certainly do that. Packing and unpacking (and check-in etc) twice would be an absolute pain and I would rather avoid it altogether.

Go, then come back.

Better to miss one day of MF than to miss the whole weekend. Not to mention the various meets that happen on Monday.

I like your idea of checking out another resort for part 2 of your vacation, though. I would go with that plan!

I would do it too. In fact, I am thinking of taking off that Monday from school. What a bummer you can't get out of the Saturday class- but you could certainly go and come back in good time.

I would go home and come back.

Now if you decide to keep the room but not sleep in it for a night remember to make Housekeeping aware of that as if they see no one sleeping in the beds for a night might think you left and are not returning so may check the room out.

But if you decide to book a 2nd hotel for the rest of the stay then no worries!

For me, money would be a consideration. So, I would chekc out of the oe hotel on Fri, stayr for Wishes or whatever, drive home and then head back on Sat and check into another hotel. The not paying for a hotel room that one night would more than cover the gas back and forth.
