HI! I have the soon to be 5 twins and I have a question about stollers. Everyone that I have spoken to says make sure you have a stroller for the kids. I have given all of our doubles away but was thinking of taking two umbrella strollers we still have and using them, Then at the end of the week giving them to someone walking into the park looking to rent. The only reason I have kept them is for this trip. I like the convenience of tossing them in the stoller and gettting where we need to go but have been told to rent because they are larger and you can pack it up when the kids aren't in them. I would value your opinion because I can't see my son willingly hopping in the stoller unless he is exhausted! The princess on the other hand will have no problem being transported!! They are both too heavy to carry and after a long day I just can't see it. Also, I might mention my FIL will be using an ECV ( I believe they are called for the week).
I don't know about your kids, but there is no way that my just turned five year old (last week) could comfortably fit in an umbrella stroller. And he hasn't been able to for quite some time! His shoulders turn in, his feet drag. . .you get the idea. We rent a stroller at WDW because they are more roomy and he is able to stretch out his legs and relax.

If your kids are comfortable in the umbrella strollers I would use them. Thats exactly what we did, we didnt want to take the stroller home with us so we left it in DownTown Disney for someone. It was cheaper to buy a stroller at Wal Mart down there than it was to rent one for the week. As long as your children are comfortable, thats what matters.
I would bring your own, so that you have something to use outside of the parks (which comes in really handy at night) We've always brought two strollers for our kids. This will be our first trip where I think we'll only have one for DS, and DD will walk (or we'll rent a single for her when she needs it)
My kids are big 5 and 4 yr old boys. I bring from home 2 large single full size strollers - one of mine and a borrowed one from my sister. The kids are just beat by the end of the day and also by mid-week they are more apt to hop in. It is a ton of walking for them.
If they fit comfortably in an umbrella stroller, then by all means use them. It seems to be a little easier to navigate two separate umbrella strollers than one large double. If your twins are too large, like Jennifer mentioned, then they might be more comfy in the rented one since it is that much larger. Although, my concern for renting the double is "she's touching me", and "he's looking at me" Maybe you're kids share better than mine.... (I'll find out how this goes when we go in September!!)
You will definitely make use of the strollers!!! Those little legs get tired quickly!

I LOVE THE RENTED STROLLERS!!! I put 2 nine yr olds in one and it feels like they were babies, you can't beat them. We usually have three double and an EVC we look like a train!
CAn anyone tell us if the rental double strollers are that uncomfortable? I was kinda thinking that for my trip, with a three and five year old... I would take my nice umbrella stroller which is light and folds up easily for the airport, Resort, and DDT for the three year old if needed. Then, I would rent the double stroller at the parks for both of them. I have a Sit N Stand, but I really did not want the hassle of folding it and lugging it around back and forth on buses and monorail. Also, it really does not recline much. The rentals look like they have lots of room and they can stretch out. I thouggt I would just bring a blanket to make is a little more cushiony.

I would rent the double stroller but bring a blanket for cushion. They are made of hard plastic and don't recline.
My kids have always done fine in the rental strollers. We have used a blanket, towel or a jacket for coushioning if necessary. They have both fallen asleep in them, so they can't be that bad, right?
Alot depends on if you are flying in, how late you stay in the parks and are you doing a DTD day. My DD loved the rented strollers she is 5 and she did fine walking to and from the bus stops to the parks. However, DTD does not have rental strollers to my knowledge and if you fly in you will probably want one at the airport. We always take an afternoon rest and then head back to the park so she never fell asleep where we had to carry her to the room but if you plan on doing that I would recommend taking your own for when you get back to the resort! I love the rentals thought b/c they maneuver really well and are easy to get in and out of! It looks like you are staying at the Poly and I can't remember if you have to fold up the strollers on the monorail or not! Whatever you decide have a great time!
I vote rent! We took a 2 and a 4 year old and tried it with one umbrella stroller. We were foolish enough to think that a 4 year old could walk! The next day, we rented their double stroller. They are soooo much easier, lighter, and turn on a dime. You can turn 2 kids with one hand they are so easy. Plus both parents are not stuck pushing a child all day. I am sure that sometime during our next stay we will be renting them again. BTW-did anyone catch the John and Kate plus 8 epidsode where they took them all to Disney and she kept saying how she loved their strollers? LOL They are so much lighter. To me, it is worth the money. If you ever tried them, you would never go to umbrellas. JMO. As you can see in my siggie....this is the day we tried it w/ our own stroller. LOL
We brought a double from home and were really happy last April. I had the same delemia whether to rent or bring from home. My youngest son was asleep by the end of everyday. It worked beautifully having our own. I am bringing it again this April and my youngest will be 6. Just can't imagine carrying him around, this way he just hops in and out no matter where we are.................. good luck with your decision.
