Early Planners!!

Me and my friends came up with this idea to all take a trip to Disney World!! I know we must be crazy right being only 13 but we figure with some hard work over the summer we can make it happen by Memorial weekend of next year.

We were wondering if you had any tips or ways to make money over the summer for us.

BTW-This is my mom's account but she is letting me share it with her

Well its gonna be interesting because your only 13, but I might suggest some ways!!!

a garage sale! (get stuff your family no longer uses--with permission) and sell it at a garage sale.

Or sell stuff on E-Bay (Get a parent to help. Parents know things-and the internet can be a dangerous place)

Baby sit. Or better still orginize a group of kids who will baby sit and you be in charge(get a percentage)

Sell books!

Baby sit pets.

Walk dogs.

Have a bake sale.

See if you can do stuff for your parents and get paid for it.

Collect coins! They add up!! Have a big jar somewhere.

Save 1 dollar bills!

I have lots of other ideas. Good luck to you. And start saving now.

First off...good on you for being responsible! Perhaps my fears of the next generation might be put at ease.

Couple of things I did when I was your age...

Paper routes

Mowing lawns and variouse landscaping

Saving cans for redemtion

That, and a good ole piggy bank (one that you can't open!)

It adds u!

Good luck!

Kudos to you! My girl scout troop once started up a business for pet sitting and baby sitting. They were pretty successful! The most important thing is to make a plan and stick to it. Whatever you choose, don't stray from it but stick it out. If you bounce back and forth you are more likely to fail.

Let us know if you need help!!!

That sounds like a great idea but you have to sign it too. Put all of it into a savings acct so that it can grow interest.

I think you have some great ideas- I can't think of any right now to help you but I think when you decide on what you are doing(baby-pet sitting, dog walking, etc) you should put up a flyer in your local grocer or around town to get your business out there. Not sure where you live(don't tell) but maybe yard clean up if your area if you had a hard winter(trees falling or leaves that no one raked up).
Have fun & .
