Do I have to buy the Park Hopper?

If I purchase the eight day Magic pass with Water/Fun/More option it is cheaper than a 7 day with park hopper. Can I just use the 8th day's admission to get into 2 parks on the same day? I only want to park hop on one day, and it is to do Disney Quest the night that we are at Blizzard Beach during the day. Otherwise it seems silly to spend so much extra since we really only do one park a day for the 6 or 7 days we will be at Disney.

Park hopping is for the main parks - MK, Epcot, MGM and AK. AFAIK, with the water parks and more option, you can use 2 options (water parks, DisneyQuest) on the same day. If I'm wrong, someone will correct me.

No you can not! We just came home and my friend did not get a park hopper and she was upset because she did not realize that she had to go back to the same park.

Froggee44 is right in that you can't use two days of "Park" admissions to go to two parks in one day.
But the question here doesn't seem to be Park Hopping. Can you use the two "more fun" options (Blizzard Beach and DQuest) in one day if you aren't switching "Parks".

"Park hopping" is going from one main park to another in the same day. MK to Epcot, or AK to HS. Going from a main park to Disney Quest (or a water park) is not technically considered "park hopping". A good way to think about it is if you did purchase a "park hopper" option for a base ticket, you would not be entitled to admission to those venues. Can you use more that one "extra" (DQ, BB, TL) in one day? Yes. Can you use 2 days admission to get into 2 main parks in one day? No.

Yes as Holly said. You can use more that one of your "extra" (WP&MF) tickets in one day. You just can't enter more than one "main" park in one day.

THANK YOU! I will save money by not adding park hopper if I don't need it, just water & more. It will save us almost 200.00!

Ticket options can be confusing, but sounds like you've made your decision! Have fun.

Now I'm confused. We had WP&M plus park hoppers in August. While we could hop between EPCOT, MK, AK, and DHS all we wanted - I could've sworn you could only use one WP&M option per day - say you couldn't spend the day at BB then go to PI. I was probably wrong all along.
