So, as I've been reading, there is free dining plan until sometime in Sept. My family is going in October and I was wondering if anyone knew of any deals that might be starting at that time. Is there anywhere I can look for these?

There's a great site for announcements of upcoming discounts -- MouseSavers.com - Disney Discount Source - Disney World Discounts, Disneyland Discounts, Disney Cruise Discounts

If you sign up for their free newsletter (link at the top of their home page), you'll be one step ahead, plus you'll have access to extra discounts.

The Annual Passholder rates were just released, but that's the most recent announcement of discounts I've seen.

The only thing you can look out for are general public discounts that will probably be released, if offered, in August.

AAA sometimes has discounts.
Disney Visa releases periodic discounts
Annual Passholders get discounts
Florida resident have special offers as well.

And if you are extra special, by subscribing to every mailing list possible and ordering a DVD (this is a rumor) you might get an exclusive discount emailed to you.

That's really a list of what's available.

I too am hoping something pops up for October as well. I've already booked but saving some money sure would be nice!!

I am one of those folks who has requested DVD's and other information and has gotten discount code offers in the mail and via email. Of course, they are always for times that aren't good for me. It always is a limited time window in replying to get the discount.
