Does anyone know what happens if you can not or do not make the final payment by the 45 day deadline? Do they refund everything paid except the $200.00 depoist? Are they known to give a "grace" period?? I'm really starting to worry now!
My aunt is doing "better" but my uncle doesn't think she will be able to go in October! This being said I want to wait until her specialist appointment which is on Sept 19th because this is suppose to be her victory trip.
They will not give a "grace" period. I called to ask because I needed just a couple of days until my bonus check arrives. I ended up taking a couple of my options off so I could pay off the trip and then when I get my bonus, I will call and add them back on.
With trip insurance and since this is an illness, you should not have any trouble getting you money back.
I think that you will get it all back. I think that if you cancel AFTER the 45 day mark you get all but $200 back. I am not sure though. I would call and ask for an extension though, my SIL was granted an extension of 10 days last year. She called and was told no from one CM then called back and talked to someone different and they granted one. I think it all depends on who you get when you call.

This just happened to me. Im self employed and didnt get paid on time to meet my deadline. The first CM was very nice but told me no way. I called a few hours later and I got an extension. I also emailed before I called and got it approved. It just depends on who you talk to. Im sure they dont want to make a habit of it. The reason my extension was granted was that i have made payments along the way and the trip was 2/3 paid for. Thank goodness my check arrived today and Im paid off as of tomorrow. Yeayyy! I would call about the refund. It definitely depends on when you do it. Im sorry to hear your plans might not work out.
I just asked for an extension of a couple days. I called a few days ago and the CM said I would get an email a couple of days after the due date as a reminder. I only needed 3-5 days. She said it would be fine because it was only a couple of days.
I called back today and anorher CM said they contact you a couple of times before wanting to cancel.
I'd ask to speak with a supervisor in guest services. I've asked this particular question over and over (to see how many different answers I'd receive) and the consensus is they'll usually grant an extension but probably not for longer than 2 weeks at the maximum-then you're pushing it. You have to call and request it though-it's never automatic.
Stuff happens-if Disney wants your business they'll work with you. Certainly they'll give you a few days (or week) grace time to make $$ rather than lose potentially a couple thousand dollars.
Thanks Everyone! I know I really shouldn't be planning this "victory" trip but its the only thing my aunt is looking forward too. When I talked to her this morning she asked me if Mickey would still like to have his picture taken with her even if she has lost all her hair.

I hope you told her he only cares about what's in her heart and not on her head. Thoughts and prayers from me to your Aunt.
For your Aunt's trip....I would just explain and tell them about the situation. Your last post brought a tear to my eye, maybe they would grant the extension.
