This info may have been already discussed- but does anyone know when the Christmas parade is being taped for Christmas day broadcast? We're going to DW the Saturday after Thanksgiving and returning home on dec. 5th.
It's usually always taped the first friday and saturday of Dec. Dsis and I will be there. DH and I were there for the taping last year and it was very crowded. But we enjoyed it.

The orlando sentinel had a blog and it stated that Lightship Entertainment is saying Nov 29th and Dec 6th will be the taping dates. California has already taped some of the performers.
Tickets aren't showing up on the AP website and Lightship's sight says check back soon for contact info for tickets. So I hope soon is soon!

Is only Main Street crowded or is the whole park nuts? My friends will be arriving at WDW on Dec 4th and they are not Passporters so I'd like to warn them.
We were in the MK in 2006 when they were taping it - Main Street was VERY crowded, but I honestly didn't think the rest of the park was too bad. We had minimal waits for everything, as had been typical for the whole week. If you can avoid the MK that day, I would. But, if it's your only option, just keep going down Main Street and you should be ok!
We were there last year for taping -- couldn't get past main street, and we gave up and went to another park. It was crazy! If I hadn't been with DH and DD's, I would have stayed and enjoyed the insanity!!

The parade taping is on main street, but since you have to make your way around it to get to the rest of the park, it can really make for a difficult park day.
Last year, we ducked through the shops to make it around the chaos, but I definitely don't recommend visiting MK on a day when they are taping the parade. If they have hopper passes, they could come back for the evening events, but I would still expect higher than normal crowds because people who don't have hoppers will still be in that park.
