This is a copy of an e-mail I just sent to Disney regarding park hours. I hope it does some good but I'm not counting on it!!!
Ken
First my background - 1) huge fan of all things Disney 2) frequent visitor to WDW 3) member of numerous online Disney fan boards 4) Home Based Travel Agent
Second, the issue - there are literally hundreds (not an exaggeration) of loyal Disney fans trying to plan vacations for the month of August who cannot do so because the park hours have not been released. According to one of these fans a cast member told her that it would be an additional two weeks because there are some folks who can not plan more than a couple of months in advance.
Although there may be those folks who are unable to plan in advance there are very many more who consider a WDW vacation a large enough event to plan very far in advance to maximize the magic on every visit.
I would hope that you would reconsider and publish the operating hours far enough in advance so these fans will be able to make appropriate ADR's at the 90 day time frame and maximize not only their vacations but also your revenue. After all I would think you would want to maximize table service occasions as the revenue they produce is much larger than the quick service locations on a per person basis.
I am not sending this because I will be an August visitor; my wife and I will be visiting in November. I just wanted to let you know that not releasing hours in a timely manner impacts a large number of your most loyal fans. Thank you for your consideration, and if I have not sent this to the correct address I would ask that you forward it to the appropriate office. Thanks again!!

If enough people keep repeating your comments they may listen.
I can see why they may be reluctant to commit with the way the economy is at the moment, but making it difficult for people to plan in advance is just making it more likely that people won't come at all!
I also sent emails to two different email addresses I had from both my email address and my daughters email address so I hope enough people contact them to get them to release the hours.

I believe this may be the exact reason the are so noncommittal to park hours. They are trying to cut back on hours and shows to save $$$ and are unable to properly set hours. This is just my opinion not a fact. With that said I did send an email and I have a letter with a Disney stamp ready for the mail tomorrow. Hopefully as stated above enough of us complain something will be done for those traveling in Sept. Oct Nov. etc.
Its a great letter Ken, and I hope Disney listens to you. Even though I won't be going in August, I know many others here are. And if they are not releasing August hours when they said they were, are they not going to release the rest of the months on time either. Hopefully something good comes of it.
We are going in June and have our ADR's already but I feel so bad for you guys trying to plan. I wanted my hours on time especially for park ADR's as we do not have park hoppers and wanted to plan ADR's for dinner in the park that had EMH's that night. I can't help but wonder if they may think more people will get park hoppers if they can't plan at the 90 days without them. My TA said that park hoppers sales are way down. Just a thought.
Park hoppers are great, but if people are trying to get to DisneyWorld any way they can without breaking the bank, Disney shouldn't ask that of them. Personally my family and I try to go once a year, preferrably twice but we aren't willing to go into debt to do it. We have plans to go in November. If the park hours aren't up in time for our ADRs I will have to plan the best I can. I will be very unhappy about not being able to plan like I want and I will be writing a letter if necessary. Everyone affected should.
Thank You soo much!! I may just as well be sending them an email, I CANNOT beleive that they will not be releasing hrs for another 2 weeks. This is simply not fair Thank you again!!
Thanks Ken. I am one of the ones waiting. I have to make my ADR's on May 11 so I'm not too concerned but I do feel sorry for the ones whose date is within the next couple of days and the ones whose date has already passed.
I called earlier this evening and had a cast member who just really didn't understand how the hours help you plan your ADR's. I tried explaining it to him, but he couldn't get past the fact that I can call on Thursday for my early Aug. dates.
I also sent an email, so we'll see if I get a reply.
