Are the club levels really worth it? In some ways they seem cool but for the price I'm not sure. Just curious as to what others think and have experienced.
We are looking at staying at Poly in August of 2010.
It all depends on what kind of vacation you're looking for, IMHO.
If you think you'll spend most of your time in the parks and the thought of coming back to the resort midday is not one you'd consider, then Club Level (concierge) wouldn't work for you. Also, if you're a big fan of the dining plan -- especially the Deluxe Dining Plan), then Club Level may be too much food for you.
If you have been to Disney many times and you'd like to take breaks back at the room, nosh on treats and appetizers, enjoy a glass of wine, then Club Level is probably right up your alley. Also, if you'd like others to make your plans for you (your ADRs, your special events, etc.), then having the staff of the Itinerary Planning Office is another perq you'd enjoy, most likely.
I generally can't afford Club Level when I'm traveling with just my family, but when I'm sharing the room with friends, I think that lounge is something else -- it makes my vacations sooooo relaxing and I end up spending way less on food and adult beverages that I'd do at another level of resort.

Coldercup, That is exactly what I wanted to know. On our last trip we really only spent one day at the resort so I'm thinking it will be like that again.
I will say the lounge area in the Poly looks great for when you won't be in MK to watch the fireworks. not sure though if that is worth the extra money.
