Unhappy New Hours for AK in Aug

So last night I was double checking the hours and shows on the WDW website and it lists AK as closing at 5:00pm for the entire time we are there. Aug 20-28th. This is new and I'm not sure if its just a mistake on the website or if something is going on there this week. Just thought I'd pass this along for all you end of Aug travelers.

Really? When I started planning for our trip, the last couple of weeks in August the hours were until 7. The only reason why I remember that is I couldn't believe that the for the first two weeks AK would actually close earlier (6 pm) than the last 2 weeks. I thought it was really strange.

If I'm not mistaken Animal Kingdom has always closed at 5:00 except for EHM where they close at 7:00

I know what you mean. I was really disappointed when I saw that Epcot does not have any EMH for when we will be there Oct 8 - Oct 12!

Darlene, they were until 7 the week we were there and now they say 5:00. I have no idea why they would close so early during summer and free dining.

I know what you mean. Last year at this time, AK was closing at 8 pm and now it's closing at 6. At first I wasn't too thrilled with the park closing 2 hours earlier than last year but we're planning of leaving between 3:30 and 4:30 this year so it doesn't matter to us now anyway.

Maybe they figured the schools in the south would be back in school I've heard of them extending the hours but never decreasing them.

Sorry to hear that. On the up side, maybe that means they expect fewer people and that could mean short waits for everything?

Sorry to hear that. Maybe at least they have morning EMH's some days so you can get an early start?

I have only been at WDW once when AK was open until 7 unless it was an EMH night. That was in June.
about the changed hours. Is there an EMH for evening while you are there?

Unfortunately, no evening EMH are scheduled but there are 2 morning EMH's so I'm hoping to hit those if I can get my brood moving.
