Question When are spring breaks?

Hi! My name is Joanie and I am new here and have LOTS of questions......first, to get my dates set, I am hoping to plan our 2010 trip for my daughter's break from school April 19-23, but is that when everyone else is on break as well, and the parks will be mobbed?
Help is appreciated!
Joanie (newbie Passporter)

My dd's Easter Holiday has always been the week AFTER Easter. However, I noticed on this year's school calendar, we are off the week BEFORE Easter. So we don't have set dates each year, its when Easter falls.

That is when Disney is most crowded, leading up to, and shortly after Easter. Since you will be there a couple of weeks after Easter, I think you'll be fine.

Welcome to the boards!

Over here in the UK, Easter holidays are usually a week before Easter and a week after, so in 2010, they'll probably be running from Monday 26 March to Monday 12 April.

Here in TN, most of the surrounding counties are doing April 12-16 for Spring Break this year. A few counties farther east are doing April 2-9.

To the boards! We have our Spring break the last week in April(26-30). My mom used to take us to Disney every year during that week and the first week in May. We used to walk right on the rides because their was no lines. I haven't done that since 1994, so I am not sure what it is like now. I just know DO NOT GO AT EASTER!!! I think you will be safe on your dates. Check out touringplans.com and see what they say. It is about $8 but it is well worth it. I always use them for my trip planning! GL!

Hi!
Here in southeast Wisconsin, most public schools have spring break starting with Good Friday through the week of Easter. So this year, it's April 2-9 (Fri-Fri).

Here in NC its the end of March beginning of April. We always have off during Easter that way they can use holidays instead of actually time off to do some of the week. We always end up with a couple of snow days so that must be why they do it that way.

The week before and the week after Easter we avoid at all costs. Other than those two weeks, the crowds are usually pretty manageable at that time of year.

My daughter's spring break will be April 5-9 this year. Most school districts around us will probably do either the first or second week of April for 2010.
