question about postcard/email offers

My daughter is a gymnast, and they've already announced that her Nationals competition will be at Wide World of Sports again this year (it was there the year before last, also). We're planning a trip to coincide with this, probably Jun 28-July 2 or so.

I had two friends last year who received the postcard offer for kids stay free and free dining during the summer months. One of them went on the trip, the other didn't. However, they both say that they get these offers often. I have a Disney Visa, and have been to Disney 3 times in the last 5 years, but I've never gotten one.

I wondered if there was a way to receive such offers. I think it has something to do with the fact that both of the friends have bought MYW packages before, and I haven't (we've always bought tickets and hotel separately). Any tips or ideas?

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to who gets pin codes and who doesn't. I have a Disney Visa, I've gone to WDW 10 times since '93, I always get the package, I signed up at the Disney website, you name it, but I've never gotten a pin code. Now, that's not to say that I haven't gotten deals. I got free dining for my December trip this year, which was available to Disney Visa cardholders before it was offered to the general public, and I've also gotten really good room discounts on promotions that were offered to the general public. I would say subscribe to the mousesavers.com newsletter to find out about the general public deals and just keep your fingers crossed for a pin code.

I do subscribe to Mousesavers already, and I always check the Disney Visa deals, but I haven't seen any good ones in summer except this postcard deal from last year.

By then I'll have 1000 Disney Reward Dollars, so I'd love to get a great deal and have my trip essentially paid for!

Sign up on the WDW site for everything. This year, not only have I been informated of each deal as it was annouced, but I have received 2 PIN codes from Disney Destinations. I know they are randomly sent, but you have to be on the list to be randomly chosen.

Sadly, I don't think anyone here knows how to get those offers for definite. Definitely keep an eye on Mousesavers for details of all the discounts available.

Also, when you sign up for all the Disney websites and sweepstakes, make sure that you check the box that allows Disney to contact you. Lots of people don't select those boxes and Disney won't send them anything...

Goood luck!
