Epcot's 2010 Food & Wine Festival

Wow, I am shocked and extremely pleased -- although all you September folks will not be happy -- about the information I just found when searching for any updates on this year's Food & Wine Festival!

Per the Disney website, this year's festival dates are:

October 1, 2010 - November 14, 2010

DH and I will be in WDW from 10/30 - 11/13/10, which means we'll be able to go to F&WF our entire trip!

for anyone whose dates are missed this year!

Yes, I too am surprised and counting my lucky stars. Last year in the festival book, they announced that they were starting the festival around September 24. I thought of moving my trip back next year to be there right at the beginning, but for some reason settled on arriving October 3. Boy, am I breathing a sigh of relief! I love the festival and would have been so ticked if I'd gotten all my reservations based on the dates published in the festival book. I might have missed the festival, or only gotten the first day or two. I hope that didn't really happen to anyone!

I would love this. We are currently scheduled to arrive at SOG on November 13th. I have been to the Food and Wine Festival before but DH has not. I think he would enjoy it. Thanks for the update.

Boy did this throw me a monkey wrench. I'm booked in a DVC concierge studio the week before--thinking they would use similar dates to 2009--now having to move vacation to do F&W!

Thanks for posting. We're booked the last week of Sept., so we'll just move it to the first week of Oct. when I get a chance to do so.

Yeah the dates are only a week off...BUT, if you booked last week of Sept to be there for F&W, like it was last year, then you would miss F&W. So that could be a HUGE problem for ppl who need to put in for vacation very early, and now cant change, or have already booked their vacation package, since changing airline tix can be very expensive.

The dates are only a week off, but I booked the last week of Sept, because Sept is fairly slow in NOLA and October is not. I got up at the crack of dawn two days in a row to call member services so that I could get one of the 5 concierge level studios at AKV. Guess what room is not available for the 3rd week of October if you were to say call member services today? Thats right . . . you guessed it -- the concierge level studio! So I'm booked in a Savannah View studio and someone else is now really excited that their waitlist came through! I'm not really upset anymore. I'm going to try to move to the Boardwalk or the Beach Club in March and I should be okay because I have enough points for either a studio or a one bedroom at either location.

Rant over . . . I should have expected complications. Everything else seems to turn out that way.

Oh Heather, that stinks!

I knew the information would really mess with September peoples' plans, especially since the dates were "set" per last year's Disney F&WF brochure!

Well I hope your room comes through. . .DH and I are on waitlist too for a room we want but couldn't get for our trip!

At least you hadn't bought the airlines tickets, like DH mentioned could happen to some, because those change-of-ticket fees are a doozy!
