My Coworker just sent me a txt (they are staying at Beach Club) she says the security dogs are everywhere and the boats are shut down. Anyone know why or have any guess to why. The CM are not sharing any info or how long this will take. The only thing I can think of is they found something on a boat.

I am told it is two separate issues. Everything is back to normal at the moment though. The boats were down due to high winds this morning. The dogs were brought in (unrelated) but nothing came of it

It could just be that a "suspicious package" was found and they are going through a set procedure to maintain safety levels.

I'll be interested to see what they release about it.

My bet is nothing. I would guess hundreds of "nothings" are investigated daily in this country and probably at least 1 a day in WDW. That is the nature of our society now, so why release anything. I was at a conference a few years ago where they called in the bomb squad and had all the dogs at the curb of the convention center. Turned out, (a not so smart) vendor "dropped off" a box of heavy brochures while he went to the park so he wouldn't have to carry them. Boy was he surprised to return and see his box surrounded.

Thanks for letting us know! I sent her what everyone shared. They visit almost 2 times a year and never had seen this in the past 10 trips

Last summer we were ready to board the boat to the GF from MK. We had to back up off the dock while a dog was brought in. Turns out someone had left an unattended ECV at the dock with a backpack or such on it.
