upgrading tickets [non-expiring tickets for child/adult]

Ok...soo....my son who is 8, will be 9 this month and we are going to Disney in Sept. I heard that we can get no expiration tickets and it doesnt matter that he would be considered an adult when we use them. I have never purchased this option and I do not know how it works. Can I buy 10 day tickets even though we are only staying 5 nights? And how does that work with the kids stay and play free package, which I have for our Sept tripConfused ..... please help.

Kids are considered "adults" at 10, so a 9 year old could get a child's ticket. If you're thinking about getting a non-expiring ticket so you can use it again when your son turns 10, that will work as long as he uses it first when he is still 9. However, the difference between "adult" and "child" tickets is $25 or less, which is much less that the difference between "14-day" and "no-expiring" tickets. So, if you know for sure you'll be going back for another 5-day visit soon, it might be worthwhile to get a 10-day non-expiring ticket. If you're not sure when you'll be back or how long you'll stay next time, it might not be worth paying an extra $200 or so now to save a little more money on your next trip.

If you're getting a "free" ticket by using Kids Stay and Play free, then I don't think it's worth getting a new ticket to save for later.

Happy planning,

Right, he'd have to use it the first time when he was still 9, and then Disney would allow him to continue using it after he turns ten.

We still have one water park day left on my daughter's child park ticket from 2001. I'm thinking of using it this summer, 10 years later....she'll be 16. If not, we'll keep it until we find a time to use it.
