It feels official, because I booked our Amtrak tickets this morning! We are leaving at 7:30 pm on Sat.,3/31/2012 and returning at 7:24pm on Sat.,4/7/2012. I am excited for our "firsts" on this trip. I will be booking our WDW package on the first of October (my first back-to-school paycheck) and we (mostly me) are so excited!

Looks like we might be doing a semi solo trip this year as my BFF and fellow WDW traveler has some doubts about whether or not she will go this year. Her oldest just started college and she started a grad school program. Both are sucking up her cash flow. She said she is going to have to wait until Jan. to decide. If they do go, it will probably be for 4 nights at the end of the week. Her whole family will go if DS can swing missing a few days, plus her DH will go this year. He had to miss out last year because of a job change. Anyway, I hope they get to go and we will definitely have a great time if they do!
Back to the trip: Thanks to all the help I have received by reading these boards and asking questions, I have decided to stay at POFQ. I love that everyone says it is smaller and there will be less walking from room to bus. Also, the queen beds, double sinks, and refrigerator all have me sold. My second choice will be POP if $$ becomes an issue, but I think I have figured out the digits to make it work.
sidebar...My DH does not do WDW with us. He is not a fan of crowds and long lines and since we do spring break, that is an issue. He went our very first trip (October trip, several years ago), and we are all happy with him staying home. We usually do a family trip every year(Christmas cruise for the past 3 years) and this year we decided to skip a Christmas trip in lieu of going to England or somewhere in Europe next summer. He made a comment that if we didn't go to Disney, we would have an even better trip next summer. I had to explain to him that although our spring trips do not include him, they mean a LOT to the us. It has very much become a tradition that we are not really willing to give up just yet. I'm sure my kids will eventually get to the point where they would rather do something else, but not yet! Anyway, I have every faith that we will be able to do both and everyone will be happy. When I say "will work for Disney", I mean that quite literally. My paychecks go straight into a savings account that is for travel. I figure the checks will be split-half WDW, half Europe, then all Europe after WDW is PIF.
I will be back with more details as soon as I get the trip booked. Has to be soon because the 180 day mark is swiftly approaching and I need to make my ADRs!!!
