We are celebrating my husband's birthday while visiting next month, and since he loved the Around the World Segway tour so much last trip I thought he'd enjoy the one at Wilderness Lodge this trip. We're going to be at the Magic Kingdom two days (both are supposed to be days that they do the tour), so I was thinking it would probably be best to book it for the second day we're at that park so that our daughter and I can hang out in the park while he's on the tour. So, my questions:
1) How long does a meal at CRT usually last? I believe it's a served meal, so I figure they pace it a certain way? We have reservations at 8:30.
2) If he was leaving MK to go to the tour (which I believe starts at the bike barn at Wilderness Lodge) how long should he give himself to get from there to the tour? We've never been to WL, so no clue where the bike barn is or how he would get to it after getting off the boat there.
I think he was supposed to check in at least 15 minutes prior to the tour starting, which would mean getting there by 11:15 if I get him the 11:30 tour. Would 45 minutes be enough time? I figure that would give us 2 hours in case breakfast runs long before he'd need to head out of there.
The other option is him going on Tuesday, the first day at MK, which would be ok since we've been there so many times. I just think our little girl would prefer him being there the first day.
I hope that makes sense. Thanks for reading and for any help you might can give!
Oh hi! I just wanted to pop by and "correct" your one question, about the "Wilderness Back Trail Adventure" segway tour: It doesn't take place at the Wilderness Lodge resort, it occurs at the Ft. Wilderness campgrounds. I just wanted to make sure that was clarified so that you're not sending the DH off in the wrong direction -- unless that's the plan? LOL!
As far as the answers to each question, I'm not sure, as I've yet to do either; i.e. at at Cinderella's Royal Table or do a segway tour. But I know nearly everyone else here has done one or the other -- if not both! -- and they can certainly help you out there!
We did this Segway tour in April, but we went directly there from the Beach Club via bus. The bike barn is right in the middle of Fort Wilderness. I'm guessing here, but I would think it would be a good 15 minute walk to get there from the boat, or you could take a bus, but I'm not that familiar with the bus system around Fort Wilderness (that was the first time we'd used the bus there) to tell you which one. Hopefully someone else can help on that.
I will tell you that we loved that tour, it was a lot of fun and you toured all of Fort Wilderness and it does actually take you up to the Wilderness Lodge as well, so you were half right there...
Whatever you do, I'd always allow a lot more time than you think you're going to need, as you're relying on Disney transportation and there'd be nothing worse than arriving late to discover they've already started.

Thanks. My husband will be heading over alone, which helps, since he is the quick one of our family. Joc and I like to wander and look at things. I'll make sure he has at least an hour, then, since it 'should' be 15 minutes by boat and maybe another 15 by bus. Hopefully 30 minutes padding would be good.

Great to hear. That would give him time to maybe do a ride or two (depending on crowds) before having to head off. Thanks.
As you can see from our sig pic, we did the FW Segway tour, it was so much fun! We were staying in WL when we did it, got the first tour of the morning, and it was just us, our own personal tour
From MK, your DH would take the boat to FW, then catch the bus to the bike barn. I had to stop and ask people how to get there, and which bus. I'm not familiar with FW at all but it was easy enough. Got some mis information, was told at first it was near the boat dock, IT'S NOT!!! It used to be a few years ago, but they moved it. But for some reason that info isn't getting out. So if anyone tries to tell you it's in the building near the boat dock, don't listen! Hahahah!
