So, I'm packing everyone up this week. Making sure we have enough clothes so that I don't have to wash while I'm on vacation. Anyway, DH tells me he only has three pair of shorts. Hmmm… considering I have personally bought the man more pairs of shorts than three this past year I know this isn't true. I go through his dresser drawers and closet and come up with five more pairs of shorts. I ask him what is wrong with these and he replies "WHERE did you find them?!?! I've been looking everywhere!" "Those are my favorite, and I think I only got to wear these once!"
AHEM… apparently the man can't open dresser drawers and look through the clothes hanging in his closet.
I'm married to one of those and he's a DETECTIVE He is amazing at his job but when looking for something at home, if it doesn't jump out and smack him in the face he will never find it!! Have a great trip!
My DH complained one time that I didn't pack what he wanted. The next time I let him pack his own bags. We got to the hotel and guess what no underwear !!!
Sorry if this is wrong, but thanks for the laugh today...I really needed it .
My "fourth child" spent last night pouting because Spring Break is over and he must return to his classroom...and today it is sunny and in the upper 70's. He also claimed that I forgot to wash his dress pants (they were hanging neatly in his closet, right in front of him).
Glad to know I am not alone in this. I have a BFF whose DH is so organized and washes clothes and cooks and cleans AND has a job. I often wonder how I spoiled my DH along the way. He is literally lost without my help.
....I must be a freak of nature...because I don't misplace, lose, forget....any of my clothes!!....particularly my "vacation clothes". They are ALL neatly packed...placed....PUT...in my official "we're going to WDW bag"....sitting bedside....all year long. (when asked by the wife..."are you packed"...I like being able to say "Yup...been packed for 11 months now").
(I have a slight advantage since I do 99% of the laundry....[and the cooking....AND I even do floors]......so I can control others ability to dress / have clean clothes...it's like a real 'power trip' to hold back clean socks from someone!! "No soup..OR socks..for you!! )
I have come to the conclusion that when the men in our lives can't find something they always ask us because they think we have a homing device attached to our uterus
My DH can find his clothes, but can't pack them without me. He always wants me to match up his outfits for him, and gets annoyed if I can't/won't. God rest DMIL's soul, but I curse her every time he goes away, because she always did all of that for him; 25 years later, and he still expects me to figure all of that out! Men!

I am sorry but I laughed! I am not married anymore- but when I was my ex would pack for himself, which was a good thing because I had to pack for me, and our 2 boys. However I couldn't understand (and still don't) he would pack pants and not shorts. But then again he would wear shorts in the winter- go figure! Fortunately I don't have to find the answer anymore!!
Since my boys are older now; 19 and 15- when I pack their clothes, I ask them what do they want to wear. DS19 will actually pick out his shorts and shirts and put them together; my DS15 is okay with whatever I pick out. Believe me I have taught them to be self-reliant. I hope one day their future wives will thank me!!! : )
However my Dad is another problem- some of the posts sound like my Dad! He relies on my Mom alot!!! But I do know she does not pack anymore for him, because maybe she 'packed the wrong things".. who knows! Two word comes to my mind- Old-school!
