Resort Ideas

I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but I need ideas and recommendations for resorts for our June 2013 trip (2-9). We are a family of 5, and most likely my parents will come along as well (not for sure). I know our options are limited. I am thinking of either POR Alligator Bayou (we stayed there last year and loved it), Coronado Springs (putting one of our kiddos with my parents since they only hold 4, not sure if that is a good idea as my dad snores LOUDLY), or hoping for a huge pin and trying one of the deluxes that hold 5. I don't really want to do a value suite, I really love the moderates. But, I guess trying the new AofA isn't completely out of the question. I just love the theming of the mods so much I am afraid I will be disappointed with the value theming (plus the suites are more than a room at POR).

I have loads of time to decide, but was just looking for some input from the experts

Fort Wilderness cabin maybe!?? sleeps 6, and SO much to do at FW. We love the peace and quiet, the wildlife and boat rides for transportation.

The great thing about planning ahead is that it gives you plenty of times to explore your options. I like the Coronado Springs option (if your parents also go). We stayed there on a June vacation and loved the space and the variety of pools--the Dig Site pool with the pyramid and slide is great with kiddos! It feels like a deluxe there for the price of a moderate.
Another possibility to explore, since you have the time, is renting DVC points. Deluxe rooms (with kitchen or kitchenette) and amenities without the deluxe price tags.

Staying offsite at a two bedroom unit that accomodates your whole family? Lots of choices. Look at Caribe Royale, they are pretty close to WDW and have gotten good reviews from Disney visitors. Also keep an eye on TravelZoo.com for ideas of special deals offered in Orlando area.

We recently stayed a bit further afield at Marriott Grand Vista and last year stayed at the Hilton Grande Vacation Suites (both off International Dr). We loved the Hilton and found the Marriott nice. Both are timeshares that rent rooms to individuals at good prices and have great pools and activities on site.

While I really love staying on site, sometimes it pays to stay offsite if the accomodations work better for families like yours.

I know you didn't mention the Deluxe Resorts but I would highly recommend the Boardwalk Inn. Personally I think they have the best theme/atmosphere among any of the WDW Resorts. Plus you will have walkways or Boat transportation to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Finally they have a lot of Table Service Restaurants and the most Quick Service locations among the Epcot Resorts.

How are the pull out beds there? We would probably have to put the three kids in the bedroom which would leave DH and I on the pullout.

I am really considering this if my parents go. I would really like to try CSR, and I don't want to pay for 2 rooms for the 5 of us.

The Murphy bed that comes out of the wall in the living area is ok! The bedroom has the big bed and a set of bunks, which works out great for the kids (except the "discussions" over the top bunk)
