If you don't mind me asking, how did you other children react to this news?
I ask because (on a whim) my DH and I discussed me doing a solo trip to Tokyo Disney and I booked it for this June. However I aslo booked for my 6.5yr old DS to come too. My older children were a little upset but understand they could not really afford to be out of school that long and they have travelled many places before their younger sibling was born. However I will still be feeling guilty I'm sure!
Good for You! Nice looking family. Going to AOA in September with my wife and two kids as my son joined the Army and deploys 10/23. May be our last family trip for a bit. Been looking at old pictures (two milk crates full) and having so much fun doing it together. Take plenty of pictures for enjoyment later. Time goes so fast. Enjoy every minute of this trip!
@Tigger71...... we are a blended family and our DD3 is our only child together. All of the other children get to either leave for weekends or summers/holidays and they are really understanding that she does not get to go anywhere (we have no family around for her). I am just thankful that I am able to take her, although I will remember it more than she does, but she has been asking to go to WDW since we left a month ago :-)
What a special trip this will be for you and your DD! My sisters took each of my older two dd to Disneyland when they were each 9 for a solo trip. My one sister couldn't take girl #3 so I got to take her. It was a great time with just my girl and me. Can't wait for girl #4 to turn 9 so I can take her by herself! It is a totally different trip when only one kid goes!
