Can you please help me out? My aunt and her family (both teachers) are taking their boys 7 & 5 during Jersey Week. I have always avoided planning my trips around this time frame so I really don't have any specific info for her. This will be the boys first trip. How bad is it? If you've been, do you have any special tips/advice ? They are planning on staying at CSR and will have the dining plan. I have told her to make her ADR's ASAP and I belong to touring plans so I will be able to help her out planning her days. Thanks for your help!!
JErsey week is a WONDERFUL time to go....I did a trip with DS back in 2008 (DH teaches in NJ, but was going to their convention). Crowds are low, everythign is manageable, and they might have MVMCP up and running on some nights (they did back in 2008, and it was a blast@!!) Weather is nice, not as much rain. We did need hoodies/light jackets at night, but otherwise, wonderful!!
....in my opinion....perhaps one of the best times of the year to go. The first several trips we did to WDW were Jersey Week. (we went the last few days of Oct thru the 1st week of Nov) The weather is super (low to mid 80's in the day....mid to low 60's at night...LOW humidity)......chance of rain is low....and swimming is still fine. It's really great walking weather...and at night...a sweatshirt with a pair of shorts is really comfortable.
The Food & Wine Festival is in full swing at EPCOT....and we once got to go to MNSSHP...on Halloween! Plus...there are some Christmas decoration going up literally right after Halloween....so it's just a great time to be there.
The crowds are LOW...(except on weekends at EPCOT because of Food & Wine Fest)....
Unfortunately we can't get there during Jersey Week anymore (for at least 2 more years) because my youngest daughter who's 16...can't miss even one day of school because she has all Advanced Placement / Honors type classes. So...I'll have to "suffer" through going in August until then .......
It's an awesome time to go! We've gone that week for the past 7 years... gorgeous weather, Food & Wine, and they may even be lucky enough to attend the first MVMCP. Crowds are definitely lower earlier in the week, and pick up as you get closer to the weekend. But they are MUCH better than peak times. Hope they have a great time!
Another thumbs up for Jersey Week, it's a great time to go! We've been traveling to WDW that week for several years now, we're going again this November. The weather is great, F&WF is still going on and the crowds are not bad at all. Like someone else said, the crowds do pick up as the week goes on, but it never gets close to what it is like during peak seasons.
We went during that week and we loved hearing all of the Jersey accents. ( I hope no one takes offence to that ). The crowds were low and it was just a great time. Have fun.
Thanks for all your replies! I was a little nervous because a friend of mine said it was a horrible week and she would never go again. My fellow pp's have put my mind at ease. Your the best!
......you are SO missing out!!...it's a veritable sea of Rutgers....and Rut's Hut tee shirts!
Definitely going next yr!!!!

It's definitely a great time of year to go from the weather to the holiday festivities getting started to the Epcot's Food & Wine Festival, which is a big draw this time of year; however, as evidenced by everyone's post thus far, so just keep this in mind -- that secret is out about this time of year.
Unfortunately, though, are there any really quiet times left? LOL Just so long as everyone knows that it won't be a-walk-on-the-rides-type of visit prior to heading down. DH and I have been during this week the last 3 or so consecutive years, and it has, pretty noticeably, been busier each year.
I just wanted to mention that in case anyone was expecting super low crowd-levels. Otherwise, the timing of Jersey Week is a pretty nice time of year to visit!

I agree. We went in 2010 the second week of Nov and so last year we wanted to move it up by a week. We knew nothing about Jersey week at all. The difference was amazing. It was so much less crowded during the second week of November. I kind of felt that "Jersey week" was like spring break for everyone in Jersey - LOL. (having gone during spring break in 2010) -So I have to agree that it must be getting busier. We will try to travel on the "off" times. Overall though, the weather is great and hey - it's Disney!

It was enjoyable earlier in the trip, as the parks were much less crowded and the weather was nice. We stumbled upon Jersey week and did not notice until the last few days of our trip how much more crowded the parks were, especially at the Magic Kingdom. We were leaving one evening to go to the Contemporary for dinner at the California Grill and almost stepped on a dozen people who just sat down in the middle of the street waiting for the MSEP to start. The entrance was really crowded and we noticed heavy crowds the next day at the Studios. This is when we found out it was Jersey week. Was thinking about going back at the beginning of November for the last week of the F&W festival, but as this is during Jersey week & Veteran's Day weekend, am thinking maybe it's not such a good idea.
