Budget?

I am about 2 weeks from our 11-month DVC window and am working on a budget, but feel like I am missing something. Here's my list so far...

Gas (to/from airport 2 1/2 hours away and for rental car)
Air Fare
Rental Car
Disney Park Hopper Tix
Water Park Tix (if we don't get WP&M, only planning one or two days)
Universal IoA (for WWoHP)
Parking at IoA
Sunrise Safari (if we get Club Level at AKV)
Illuminations Cruise (for my Birthday)
Dining Plan or TiW and meal costs
Souvenirs
Gratuities
Pet Sitter or Boarding

So am I missing anything?

I guess you don't have to pay for a hotel room with DVC, but tips for mousekeeping? (not sure how that works for DVC).

Have fun planning!

Ginger

PS: Oooh, oooh, I know: parking at the airport! Tolls in Florida!

Refillable mugs if you get those & any non dining tips such as bell services or mousekeeping you plan on giving are the only things I can think of.

Yes, the room is covered with our points and I have a tentative one-night at a hotel near the airport on either end of the trip in case we decide to go the night before or stay before driving home.

I had forgotten airport parking and tolls. I will add those to the list. We have never had to park at the airport as we use to live near family and they dropped us off, but living in the middle of nowhere we don't have that option anymore.

Oh, yes we will want the refillable mugs. I will add that to the budget for if we don't get the dining plan. I better split the gratuities up, I will forget to add the ones for mousekeeping and bell services. Thanks!

Will you need money for food at the airport or if you stay at a hotel the night before or after?
Since you are in DVC with a kitchen, will you want to make a stop at the grocery for any snacks or breakfast items for your room?

Gas getting around Florida. Shopping for groceries is important as you can get a 24 pack of soda pop for under $10 but in a hotel market it is very expensive and items are few. Whole Foods Market is a bit of a drive as are most markets. Stamps and postcards might be nice. I live in a hotel and find paper plates and a roll of paper towels essential. Have cash on hand for the rides at Marketplace in DTD if that is your thing. Do you do pressed pennies? Arcade machines eat up coins. Some carts, balloons and other vendors take cash only.

Photo pass?
Scrap booking?
Ride or meal photos?
Cab at any time?
Anything like pirate league or special event or tour?
Room service at all for other tips?
T shirts or shoes or other clothing items you need before trip?
I'll keep thinking....

Any food on the way to/from or at the airport we take out of our regular monthly budget. We live in a very small town and don't eat out often, so it's easier to take those out of that budget. I will need to add a little for a few groceries. Thanks!

I include all gas into one item. Groceries I need to add to the list. No stamps/postcards - if I buy them I never mail them. Pressed pennies are added into our souvenir budget, but I always seem to forget to bring quarters/pennies, so maybe I will put that on its own line this trip.

Oh, you are good! Need to add photo pass, ride/meal photos and photo book. I also need to add in some Hawaiian shirts! We wore them one trip and loved it, we could always stay together better. We get a rental car, so no need for a cab. The only special events we have planned are the sunrise safari and illuminations cruise, although I may budget a little extra in case we decide to do a last minute tour or have my DD participate in the kids programs at AK.

Wow! What a help, I can't believe some of the things I've missed. I knew it seemed to good to be true!

Ok Beaming with happiness here...that I was able to help...
Its called being 14 days away from trip and remembering all the things you need to do!!!!

Couple things - on Photo Pass preorders have increased. I think it is 169$ now for CD/Book. They have a new Photopass Plus that you can get at the main photo pass place in each park your first day there.....It cost $199 (plus whatever the book charge) but it includes all ride and character meals. I started a thread on it and it might be helpful as we have all been debating about pros and cons. You may be able to preorder as you normally would then upgrade in the main camera center in park as you can't preorder the PLUS. All ears has the best information on it except all the sites leave out what photo pass told me in an email - 14 day limit on your trip.....I know Im in the minority but it is because we didn't go last year and we drive...Im going to stay a while in that case.... anyway... it could save you some money IF you were planning on buying ride photos and character meal photos that aren't included in price.

By the way, this thread is helping me remember things too!

Disney's PhotoPass
New photo pass
I saw the thread on the PhotoPass and have been keeping an eye on it. I didn't preorder as it wasn't in the budget at that time and I don't always get the CD but I do always make a photo book. I will probably preorder and make sure we hit a lot of PhotoPass spots. The last trip we really didn't see that many out, but it was January. We are going in April and I think there will be more around. I'll definitely add it to the budget, but not sure if I would want to preorder until I know how many pictures we had taken.

I have a lot of research to do! Our last trip to WDW was Jan 2010. We opted for DLR in Oct 2011 and Feb 2012 so I have been not keeping up completely on WDW news! I know there are a lot of changes and I'm going to have to start getting it together.

Thanks for all the info, and I hope you have a fantastic time on your trip in a couple weeks!
