i finally decided (well DD5 helped me decide lol) that i would be a zombie mouseketeer for MNSSHP and now i need help with my costume. What color skirts did the girls wear? I can only find b/w photos. I'm not going to wear a skirt but i was thinking a pair of shorts in the same color would suffice What type of shoes should i wear, i think they did the bobby socks and mary janes...what are some options that are similar? do you think a sleeveless mock turtle neck would be too hot for the first week of October? What's the best way to keep my mickey ears on my head throughout the night, without using the strap cuz that would drive me crazy. Any suggestions are welcome
The girls wore Mary Janes and either white socks, or blue ones to match the skirts. (There was also a time they wore pleated black skirts, with white insets, but I'd go with the blue.)
Looks like the fabric in those original costumes has faded considerably, though.... The boy's pants look closer to the blue of the few color photographs I saw. There's also a doll from the time period wearing the outfit -- and that blue matches the photo I linked to.
awesome!! thanks now to start buying my outfit and looking up different zombie make up styles. I'm hoping the whole outfit make up and all for under $100, i have jean shorts...and that's it lol
I lucked out finding the link. Over time the blue skirt has faded and the white shirt has yellowed but at least it gives you something to work with. And it does show the adults outfits which matched the coloring of the kids outfits.
I found a lot of great how to vids on you tube for the zombie make up that were about making the face look gaunt and zombie like without all the gore so i saved them and will start looking at them prob once a week until maybe a week or two before then i'll watch them more so i have the make up down pat I was wondering about how to do my arms and legs. I can't leave them regular while the rest of me is zombiefied, so what is the best way to do the makeup for them?
I'm going to check out the mary janes skechers has, and have also found a cute pair at sears that looked comfy as well.
I think i'll do my hair in braids, then back comb them to make them look messy. One website i came across said to put baby powder in your hair to give it that old dusty look.
The only mock t-necks i can find are ribbed and that won't work with the iron on letters, does anyone know where i can get one that is a thin sweater type material?
I know i have 5 months but i am soooo excited, we're going to have so much fun!! I'll def post pics of hte finished product.
