2013 Room rates

There was a thread on here last week I think about room rates for 2013. It has been confirmed that 2013 room only rates are in fact guaranteed rates. This is from a high up source in the Disney sales chain. So those that are waiting to book for 2013, your room rate will be guaranteed at this time!

Can you give us a source? As in a link to a web page stating that they are confirmed rates?

I don't mean to question your impulse to post what you heard, but only supportable, released info is to be posted in this forum. For rumors, there is another forum.... http://www.passporterboards.com/foru...-disney-world/

It is not a rumor. I am a Disney Authorized Vacation Planner and this came from our DSM. I do not have a link to post.

Correct. You can make room only reservations up to 499 days in advance of the checkout date. A deposit will have the rate guaranteed but it is only the room. Once packages are released then you can modify and add components. It can't be done online. You must call Disney or your TA.

Ok I am not sure I understand this, I am looking to stay at a Disney resort before our cruise next year starting Sept 21, so I am looking at a room Sept 19-21. When can I book a room and will it be the price I am looking at now or will it go up? I know I am being really dense but I have never booked a room only and certianly never booked a hotel room this far out. Any advice would be most appreciated.

I thought when you made a Room Only reservation prior to next years rates being released you would be quoted the highest rate possible for the resort you are staying at, however once the new rates for next year come out WDW would then adjust your rate to what it should be.

When you call Disney or your TA to book room only for 2013 the rate you are quoted is the rate you will be paying. It isn't necesarily the rack rate, or highest possible rate. I called yesterday for POR and the standard room rate is the same for March 2013 as it is for Dec 2012.

I called today and they told me that what I was quoted was rack rate and guaranteed.
I suspect I'll be cancelling though -- I can't justify $185 a nite for a value resort.
