Question on packages [guesstimating cost]

I know the 2013 prices don't come out until mid-July to August. I noticed there's a historical attendance, promotions, etc. Is there anywhere to see what the costs have been for packages. For instance do they typically go up in price each year by like 15 or 20%? Just to do a guesstimate on the trip. I did reserve a rental car already since we will need a mini-van and those are one of the most expensive cars to rent. I was able to get one from Enterprise for 12 days for $693, which I didn't think was too bad. Better then airfare for 6.

Hi!

Generally, plan that prices will increase 10-20 percent each year - that is the rule of thumb that I generally use. Book early to get the best selection and prices for your choice of hotels, room categories and then, you can get your Dining Reservations as soon as the reservations open. If a better price or a promotion/discount comes up later, it is almost always possible to apply the new promotion or discount to your booking. Another advantage to booking early is the possibility to get airfare from Disney's bulk airfares with less stringent deposit policies, such as just paying a modest deposit instead of the full airfare at time of booking, as is the situation with published airfare. Plus, flight times, flight connections are often better with bulk airfare vs published airfare.

Finally, that rental car cost seems high to me, but I don't think you mentioned the length of rental car period???? You should compare the prices of the car rental when the packages come out, just for fun. Again, it is the bulk purchase vs independent purchase question...it never hurts to check, just to be certain .

Have a magical day!
Julia

Sorry, it was renting from Cleveland and driving to Disney. So, it was actually for a 10 day rental and on a mini van, that wasn't a bad price at all. I did price if we flew, I took the first week in May to get a feel for the airfare since we are going the first week of June and that right now is almost $2100 for the 6 of us and that was crazy.
