If you look on Google trends map for flu - the whole continental US is in read or dark orange meaning you are around it daily anyway....

As someone whose family always gets sick at Disney - know what your plan will be if you need a Dr. Centracare is great near DTD BUT they have 2 hour waits and are full of sick people all the time so ....consider in room Dr or Celebration hospital if covered by your insurance.

Im seriously considering finding a permanent Florida physician for us....

If this was when our trip was Dec 7-22 Id tell you dont go bc WDW - Central Florida was already one of the hotspots BUT its Jan 11 the crowds are nill and the flu is at your school, church, grocery store already.... AND you have the shots in place.

Plan, prepare then go have fun!

THANKS

We had flu shots in October, she had her lab work done this month & everything is good, neutraphils good, & will have labs done again around the first of the month.
She does not go to school, & we stay away from stores as much as possible.
I did hear this morning that they thought that the flu had done its peak in most states.
Just hoping & praying we can go.

Seems to me that since the flu epidemic is peaking right now, it's going to die down before your trip. Since you've already seen your doctor and he says your daughter is fine then go on the trip.

After visiting with her doctor, if he/she gives the go ahead, I'd go.

I would go. Your family has had their flu vaccines. There are many precautions that you can take and should take in your daily life as well. Handwashing being the most important. Carry hand sanitizer. I don't know what her medical condition is or how old your DD is, but from your concern I assume some sort of immunity issue. Masks can be purchased cheaply as can rubber gloves. That way interactive activities can be enjoyed.

You say she's in good health and you've all had your shots. I say go for it!!!! There are great health facilities around Disney if you need to use them. We have and they treated my son amazingly. Have a great trip if and when you decide to go!!!

I'd say go for it. Just be sure to take plenty of germ-x and disinfectant wipes. If she does choose to do the interactive ques, make sure to wipe her hands down afterwards, just to be safe. GOOD LUCK!

Doctor gave the go ahead, that would be good enough for me. And looks like you do all the precautions.
I just packed my travel size sani wipes. When we get into our hotel room, I wipe down phone, TV remote, all door knobs and dresser pulls, closet and balcony handles, sink area and faucets, toilet flusher lever, basically anything we are going to touch. We fly so I also wipe our tray tables and arm rests.
At the parks I have a travel size antibacterial gel in my purse, in case I want to touch the interactive queue

Go and have a wonderful trip.

Yes, she has immunity issues. As of right now we are planning on going, unless something changes. We have the masks & gloves, and always carry sanitizer with us.
We need a vacation, this weather is keeping us inside, we hate it.
I would love to move to Florida, LOL!!
Just heard on HLN News, that they thought that in 6 weeks the Flu will have run it course in the southern states, praying this is true.

Thats very possible as these states were already on high flu activity status 1st week of Dec. They were all the states we were driving thru - Texas, LA,MS,AL, and of course FLorida.
