Does anyone know if you are able to request different types of pillows from housekeeping? I always find the pillows at Disney extremely hard and uncomfortable as I'm used to having fairly soft pillows. I was wondering if it was possible to request softer/down filled pillows in place of the standard room pillows?
I really don't want to take my own pillows as we're flying down but I will if I have to.
You can use your pillow as one of your carryons for the flight. I have seen many people do that. If you are going to take your own pillow, make sure you take a pillow case that is not white for it and do not keep it on the bed when you go to the parks. Place it in a drawer or in your luggage so that mousekeeping does not accidently take your pillow thinking it was a WDW pillow.
You can request featherless pillows, etc for allergy reasons so they have more than one type of pillow on property, not sure if it will be what you want or not but you could try calling mousekeeping and asking.
Last time we flew I checked luggage and took one of the big duffel bags and had my body pillow and 2 bed pillows in it. You can have 2 checked bags per person on SW so we checked bags so I could bring my pillows.

When I fly I have my checked bag, a carry on, a 'purse' and a neck pillow. I've never had any issues with this set up. Can I simply substitute a regular pillow for a neck pillow?

The last time I flew Airtran, that would have been considered too many carryon pieces.
I saw more than one person trying to shove a neck pillow into their carryon because they were only allowed 2 and the neck pillow made it 3 carryon items.
Airtran can be strict about their carryons which is fine with me.
So I'd think you would want to just put your regular pillow on top of your clothes in your checked bag and be ok.
