New Years Eve / MLKing Day

Has any one gone to WDW and arrived on New Years Eve or the day before? What are the crowds like then? We went in Nov 2002 during Jersey Week/ Soap Weekend and the crowds for us were bearable. We are not "crowd" people by any means.
Another time we may go is around Martin Luther King Day. Any thoughts on this time of year?
My husband has given the go ahead for a 2004 trip, so why not plan it for January!

Re: New Years Eve / MLKing Day

We spent this past MKL Weekend at WDW. The crowds were very light but the weather was cold.
But DH and I would definitely try that weekend again.

When do the crowds tend to die down after New YEar's. I am thinking maybe we could arrive on 1/1 and stay a week.

Re: New Years Eve / MLKing Day

New Year's Eve is mad! We found Epcot quite quiet when we got in there at midday on New Year's Day (can't think why) and really from then onwards, it was fairly quiet, compared to the days up to New Year's Eve.

If you don't like crowds, I'd aim to arrive 1/1, I think it's cheaper then as well?

Re: New Years Eve / MLKing Day

New Year's eve day we started in MGM and it was goodtouring..we left around 3:00 and went to Epcot(we had PS at Teppanyaki that night). It was really crowded and then they gave out noise makers and hat and it was crazy! There is alot of outdoor stuff to do but it started to pour that night. we had to wait almost and hour from our original PS for dinner. That said New years day was very quiet and low crowds. January 2 and 3rd were also easy touring. We left on the fourth.
