Am I the only person that goes through this? When I started planning, we were at 211 days. We're now at 50 some and I'm just not super excited like I was 2 months ago. Part of it is that I'm crazy busy with work and family, but I think my whole family feels it. We have a paper chain on the wall that we started at 100 days and for the first few weeks the kids were fighting about who would cut off the link. Now it goes days without being cut to the point where I'm having to go check my counter to see what day we're on.
I think after the rush of making ressies for hotel and air and then making PS, you have the excitement building. When those things are done, it's harder to keep up the same level of excitement.
What's nice is that I'm so busy with the end of school that time will go quickly and it will be here before I'm ready. I'm looking forward to actually packing and confirming reservations, etc. in that week after school dismisses and before we leave.
I feel the same way sometimes, I finish college the day before I leave for WDW, so I've been busy with term papers, group projects, and trying to list stuff on ebay so I have some spending money on my trip. -Stephanie
I know what it's like to be super-crazy-busy too. But I bet that when your trip gets closer, you and your family will get more and more excited about it!
You're not the only one Kim! I too get into a slump! When there's nothing more to plan, the time seems to slowly tick by. But the good thing is, in less than 2 months we'll be at WDW and riding Splash and watching the Bears! Could it get ANY better??? I think not.
I think once you get to start packing and it seems close, the excitement will come back. You're at a point where all the planning is done, so it's like "Now what"
I think we all probably go through it. I know I most certainly am. All our travel and room ressies are made, still too early for making our PS arrangements, I can't talk about it when our daughter's home since it's a surprise trip. Ugh! But that's why I'm on these boards - living the dream vicariously while waiting for my own.
OMG, I know how you feel! I was so pumped about this trip until yesterday. Here's why:
1. Get to work and my manager denied my PTO request for my Disney trip. Jumped out of my chair and ran to go talk to him, he said I was ok, it was on his calendar, he hit the wrong button, whatever. (I checked the calendar, I was on there)
2. People saw the Passporter was back on my desk after a week's hiatus and said "The Disney book is back???"
3. Needing shorts and capris, I go to Target after work with a $350 gift certificate my husband had won from work in hand. I loaded my cart with shorts, capris, and bathing suits to try on. I left the store with 1 pair of capris.
So after Target, I got home and popped the Disney planning DVD in the DVD player to make me feel better. It worked, a little.
I'm feeling better today...28 days to go...I'm sure once I get down there I will be ok again!!
I go thru the same thing. There is such a rush of things to get done all at once, then there is a big "lull". I usually read my old trip reports and look at the pictures, read other ones here, stay active on the boards, and I did pop in the Disney DVD last weekend too
Just think, the nervousness and mad house of running around making sure you've got everything will be here before you know it
I think I probably went through that, probably between about 60 - 70 days off, but don't worry, the excitement comes back the nearer your vacation gets - trust me! We're down to 19 days and counting now and I'm practically bouncing off the walls with excitement... did I mention it's only 19 days to go?
I hope the excitement soon returns for you guys soon - I'm sure it will.

You are not the only one. I have to change one our PS's and haven't felt like doing it. Plus we also have a paper chain and it goes days before we take down the links.
I agree with everyone! I think everybody goes through it. I find that by buying a few things each week, it keeps me excited (and is easier on my wallet!). Also reading posts keeps me into it. I am always finding out something new. Just when you think you know it all.....somebody posts something and it makes you say "Wow, I didn't know that!"

[/ QUOTE ] Me too Steph! I have my last exam the afternoon before we leave.
I've been in that slump for a while too. A person wait and build excitement for the 90day PS countdown and then the excitement starts to fade a bit. It is definately starting to pick back up with our trip being just over a month away. (The fact that the semester is almost over doesn't have anything to do with it! )That's why I love coming here as I can still feel WDW with all of you!
I am so excited that I think I am going to have to go into therapy when I return from WDW. To keep the magic going, I change my desktop to a new Disney picture every day at work and check my clock frequently-it counts in hours too. I finally am under 1500 hours. It could be because this is my first trip-I hope I don't go into a slump!
I went through a planning slump too. It was especially hard on me because I know there are plans I could be making, but have decided not to. I am going on what technically is a solo trip. I decided to make myself available and be very social. I will be meeting up friends that I made while down there last year. Plus, I am up for meeting new friends. I just didn't want to tie myself down with a slew of p.s. arrangements. So, all of my planning was done ages ago.
The slump ended last week when I started with what turned into a new temporary solution. End of planning - start of SHOPPING! There was a whole bunch of stuff that I wanted specifically for this vacation. I decided I should start shopping at 60 days out so things would arrive in plenty of time. Much of what I purchased I purchased online (not the least of which is my new digital camera which should arrive next week!) So the shopping spree and now the packages that are staggered to arrive will help maintain the excitment for the time being. But what will I do in the month of May? Oh that's right! Play with my new toy - the digital camera. I've got to learn how to operate it before the big trip, right?
