Travel journals for Kids

Hi All-
I just wanted to let those families who are taking kids to Disney about a great site that I found that has free downloads for travel journals. While searching for stuff my kids could do on our journey I found a site that has over 30 pages of travel pages for kids. These pages are in pdf version and must be downloaded individually, but it is well worth the time. My kids were so excited when I printed it off. I created my own cover page for them and let the kids decorate them. Anyway, the site is here:

Thanks for the info! A few years back my DD did one for school while she was gone. I think that I will have them both do them this year, they are a great keepsake to have after it is all over with and to look back on!

Re: Travel journals for Kids

that was very cool, thanks. I have downloaded the files and I am going to put together a nice little book. I plan on downloading these to a cd. Then have him do one each trip. That would be pretty cool seeing how memories of his trips evolve.

You are most certainly welcome. I just thought that was such a neat site and great idea to boot. I saved mine on my computer as well for future trips. It is a great way to have the kids keep their memory of a Disney trip alive.

I did one for the girls before our trip. Jessica writes in hers every night before we fall asleep and Katy hasn't touched hers. But, I think Jessie will have fun with it as she is older.

That's great! I guess it depends on the age and interest. I know my daughter is excited about it and my son just needs help writing in it.

Re: Travel journals for Kids

I am thinking about making one for myself in addition to the passporter. I found on the last couple of trips that sitting down and writing in the passporter was a great way to relax.

That's what I was thinking of doing also.

That, and include every page in one package so I have them all together instead of 86 seperate pages...

Re: Travel journals for Kids

I used the idea from TheMouseForLess.com and made my own in Microsoft publisher.

Because my son was in 1st grade, I included "homework" that he could do that was age-appropriate. I had a page for him to practice his handwriting - "Welcome to Disney World" - and math "if we arrive on December 4th and leave on December 11th, how many days were we in WDW?"...

I got a lot of clipart off the web and put alot of pages in the back with pics of the characters in the corners so he could also use it as an autograph book.

I then had these printed up and bound at Kinkos.

I can't tell you how many face characters complimented me on the book.

BTW, I pre-approved this with his teacher and she didn't give him any homework to do while we were there (and this is one tough school!)....

Eileen

PS - I'd offer to send the Publisher file, but it's BIG - 12 meg or so.

Re: Travel journals for Kids

Sounds like a great idea and very creative of you. I think doing something like this is a great way to create a memory book for the kids. Now only if I could have been that creative....Thanks for the idea
