I'm beginning the plans for our December trip and was reading about the Yuletide Fantasy Tour in the Passporter. Have any of you taken this tour? What is it like? Is it worth the money?
We took the Yuletide Fantasy tour last December and really loved it. You get to do lots of cool things - you start off by strolling around a deserted World Showcase before it opens to the public while your tour guide explains a lot of the Christmas customs from the various countries. You also get to visit a couple of the resorts and the theme parks for an up close and personal look at how they do what they do with the fabulous Christmas decorations. The tour ends with a visit to the workshop and warehouse where the Disney decorations are made and stored. This place is HUGE. You're given special safety goggles to wear while you're inside the workshops as frequently there are cast members busily at work making like Santa's elves as they create little pieces of Disney Christmas magic. At the end of the tour, you're given both a lovely Disney Christmas ornament plus a special collectors' pin commemorating the tour. Both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would recommend it to anyone. Oh, and before I forget, a special tour bus takes your group from place to place so that the amount of walking involved is not bad at all.
Thanks for asking this question...I was wondering about this tour and hoping to take it in December! I read you don't need park admission for the day to take the tour...is that correct?
I bought the Yuletide Fantasy Tour for my parents last year as a Christmas present. They LOVED it!!! They learned some fascinating things, saw some really cool things and even received an ornament and pin! They had a blast and said they would do it again! I highly recommend it!
<font color="purple">Linda,
I haven't done it, yet! I've paid for my mom and I to go on Nov. 29th.
I had wanted to try it ever since I read Joy J's trip report The making of a Disney World fan - Dec 7-17
I believe the CM told me it is only offered once a day 9a.m (must be at Epcot Guest Relations by 8:45a.m). There is no park admission required. I don't have my Passporter with me Terri, but I definitely know they don't offer it on Sundays, as I had wanted to go on that day and had to change it to Monday. I think it's Monday through Thursday, because on the weekends the resorts lobbies and parks that you'll visit will be more crowded.

Thanks for the information. I knew someone could tell me about the tour...that's the beauty of these boards. We are definitely going to include it in our December plans, it sounds very interesting.
