I knew this would happen. I've been planning this trip for 4 years and a week before my trip and now I get sick. I started getting the runny noice, the sore throat, and Tuesday night. Went into work from noon to 5 yesterday (half day) and am home today. I already had the flu a month ago, but I knew I was going to catch something with everyone comming into work sick, which is why I decided to stay home.
I'm sure that this looks really bad at work, since the only days I have left at work before my trip are tomorrow and Tues, Wed and Thur of next week. I didn't want to get anyone else sick since we will be short two people tommorrow and two people until March 2nd.
You better believe that I'm still going, but this is the last thing I needed to happen.
Well, at least you'll probably be better by the time you go!! I have been preaching to my dd and dh "wash your hands everywhere you go!" We leave in 19 days and I just know that someone will get something!! Hopefully it's me because I will go even if I am dying, but I couldn't do that to dd or dh. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
I don't think it's serious or anything like that, just a really bad head cold, but the blowing of the nose and sneezing is driving me crazy. My nose is so red now I look like Rudolph the red nose raindeer.
Both of our kids got sick 2 days before our first trip and were on antibiotics. My daughter was feely so bad at 'Ohana that she almost feel asleep in her meal.
Better now than at Disney although the care center is great. (A friend had to go there her 2nd day at Disney).
You should hear me on our video from our Dec. trip. I recently watched it and didn't realize how nasty my hacking cough sounded. I caught something from the kids in my classroom the week before and carried it with me to WDW. But you'll be okay, once you're there a little cold won't hold you down!!!
I called the doctor earlier and she already knew that I was going on vacation from my last visit when I had my recheck from the flu a had in January. She told me that since I wasn't running a fever or had any other flu like symptoms that I had before, I should just continue taking my cold and flu stuff that she gave me, along with lots of liquids and that should do the trick. Since she just saw me, she doesn't think a visit is nesessary.
I'm starting to feel better and its probably just a cold that a couple of days of cold caps should do the trick.
Get as much rest as possible is all I can say. I am just getting over being really sick. 104 temps, runny noise, cough and all...and rest is the best medicine! You will definitely need it before heading to WDW!!! Don't get too stressed either! HAve a good trip too!
My trip is one thing that I keep thinking about. This time next week, I will be at the Hilton across the street from Chicago Ohare airport getting ready for my 7:30 am flight to Orlando.
I am starting to feel better already. I go lots of sleep this morning (slept till 10 I believe) and have gone through 1 carton of orange juice.
