Debit Cards/Credit Cards

Trying to figure out what would be best to travel with for $$ - can you use your debit card at the parks ? Can you use Visa Credit Cards at the parks?

Re: Debit Cards/Credit Cards

You can use any Visa, Mastercard at the parks, either a credit or a debit card.

I don't remember whether they accept Discover now, at one point I know they did not, but I seem to think that was changed.

I prefer using a debit card, then I don't have to worry about a huge bill later

Re: Debit Cards/Credit Cards

I am pretty sure you can use all major credit cards, as well as the JCB (Japanese Credit Bureau) card.

Re: Debit Cards/Credit Cards

I used my debit/credit card when I went in June it was very easy and kept me from carrying large amounts of money on me. I would visit the ATM in the morning so that I would have cash on hand for vendors and other places that accept cash only.

They except all credit cards--I always use Discover, never had any problems.

Just FYI - most of the smaller vendors now have WiFi systems ... so you can buy Mickey bars and other things using credit cards or a resort key card with charging privileges.

Good luck!

Re: Debit Cards/Credit Cards

I only carried enough cash so that if I wanted a Coke or a Mickey Bar I could buy that, Everything else got charged to my key. Even if they carts take my key this year I think I'll still carry cash. I hardly ever use it but I just don't fell comfortable unless I know I have at least $10 in my pocket.

Re: Debit Cards/Credit Cards

I've used both...they accept anything with a visa or mastercard or AMEX symbol on it. I've always used my room card and then charged all of it to my credit card if I wasn't using CASH or traveler's cheques...my preference is traveler's cheques....because I allot so much per day and only take that much in my waistpack...with a hidden safety $100 or $50...on my person...just in case!

Re: Debit Cards/Credit Cards

I am with you, Cheeser. I allot myself $100 cash per day to blow. I usually come back at the end of the trip with money, though, because I make sure my hotel, flight, car, etc are paid for before I go. I noticed the last time that I went and I used a credit card, there were additional service fees added at restaurants. I am not doing that again! Amy
