Okay all you annual December WDW visitors what should I pack?
I was thinking shorts for day pants at night with light sweaters or sweatshirts (we will bring warm fleece jackets too)? But should I be thinking pants for day too? Should I pack more pants and less shorts?
I see ave. temps. in the 70's but what is your experience with WDW in December?? I'm trying not to pack too many clothes so we can buy more stuff
Honestly, the weathermen struggle enough to pick the forecast the next day. I'm not sure how we can foresee next month.
But when I was there in December, I could wear shorts one day and a few days later I wore a sweatshirt and jeans.
I'd plan on packing at the last minute and packing a bunch of layers. Who knows what it'll be!
I was there in 2003. I wore capris or jeans the whole time. In the sun, I'd be ok in a t shirt, but my sweatshirt came on in the shade. We had two pretty cold days, but nothing as cold as Buffalo can get!
DH wore shorts the whole time (I'm in Florida! ) but did put the sweatshirt on at night.
I'd pack things you can layer and things that coordinate well with each other.
You might find some more information in there We've gone before, and we take everything except the kitchen sink

Temps can range from the 70s to the 40s. Jackets, pants, sweatshirts, shorts, you name it....

This is the Truth! The temp can change & change very rapidly too. We were at DTD one afternoon & had to buy sweatshirts & gloves the temp dropped so fast. Also, one New Years eve we had on heavy jackets....38degrees!
I do think it also depends on the temperatures you're used to. We were out in shorts on days when most people were in jeans, but to us, it was warm out - the low 60's.
In December at WDW, you do truly have to be prepared for absolutely anything and everything weather-wise. I've seen it be in the low eighties one day and dip right down to below freezing the next. I was shocked by how wildly the temperatures could fluctuate from one day to the next. So basically you have to pack a little bit of everything and don't forget the gloves and hats as they can really come in handy.
I think you'll be in pants more than shorts. We dressed in layers as the sun feels warm but it can still be chilly especially in the early morning and downright cold once the sun goes down! Last December for the MVMCP night it was in the high 20's with the wind chill.
