Sssshhhh! Don\'t tell my husband...

I just bought my very first AP!!

Dang if this isn't going to be coolest trip ever! I just feel it! We're staying onsite for the first time, taking Doodlebug (my 3yr old DD) for the first time, and now I am the proud new owner of an AP! This is me doing a happy dance!

Thanks to this wonderful site, I found out that the AP rates are finally out for May! When I called last week...no luck. I wasn't going to spend the $$ until I was sure that I'd save big! Well....the extra $200 for the AP is totally made up by the $200 and change that I'll save on the room! I'm feelin' pretty dang smart about now.

Now I just need to decide whether to spring for the Dining thing! (you know what I mean!) What do you think? Will it save me big bucks, above and beyond the cost? It's good for the year too, isn't it? Oh well, I'll figure it out....

This is me....

(I'm a big dufus....I know......)

Re: Sssshhhh! Don\'t tell my husband...

Congrats! I just bought my 3rd AP and I still get a rush, so I know how you're feeling.
I would go for the Disney Dining Experience. It saved us lots of money last year.
My only question, where did you get an AP for $200? Even with my DVC discount I still paid $315 a piece for ours.

Re: Sssshhhh! Don\'t tell my husband...

By all means, get the DDE card. We figured that the savings on meals pretty much covered tax and tip! And if you have a whole family going, you can save a considerable amount. Be aware, though, that you can't use the card for the Fantasmic dining package, or on certain holidays. Oh, and it's also usable at the counter service restaurants at AK and the food courts at the resorts (at least, at the Values...don't know where you're staying...)

Re: Sssshhhh! Don\'t tell my husband...

When I said $200 more for the AP I meant $200 more than the pass I was going to purchase for myself. I wish I had some way to get a cheap AP!
