what do you carry in the parks (and how do you carry it)? We are going to WDW for the first time in a couple of weeks. I've planned within an inch of my family's sanity and we are just about ready to go. I'm now starting to think of how it will actually be in the parks each day.... I've got the standard touristy fare; a video camera, a still camera, a hip sacks, backpacks (both regular and itty bitty ones), etc. I really want to get video footage and pics of my son's visit (especially since we're going for his birthday), but I'm not sure how that will work with getting on rides. What do you all take with you to the parks? What do you do with your cameras, etc., and how do you carry the other stuff? And what do you do with it all when it's time to get on a ride?

Re: what do you carry in the parks (and how do you carry it)? Camera in carrying case that attaches to my belt. Fanny pack for sunglasses etc. Water bottle on strap around neck. Most of the rides have enough room at your feet to stow your stuff. Many even have net pouches. If you can manage to get down to no bags at all, you can skip the bag check line and save yourself some time at the start of your day

Re: what do you carry in the parks (and how do you carry it)? I carry all my park "junk" in a backpack. When I ride the rides it goes with me and I usually put my foot through one of the straps! I carry all kinds of things, like...my autograph book/permanent marker, water bottle, camera, sunscreen, jacket (if that time of year), my video camera (only at certain times of the day, for fireworks/parades/meals), snacks, my wallet (that has my ID, credit card, room key, debit card, some cash, and insurance card), handwipes, kleenex and anything else I can think of!

Re: what do you carry in the parks (and how do you carry it)? For me...the less the better! I really hate carrying things around the park. Most days I only carry my sunglasses, resort key and a little cash (just in case). Our camera responsibility has always been DS#1 or at times DS#2. When they no longer go to WDW with us (if that day ever comes) DH will have to take on the responsibility!

Re: what do you carry in the parks (and how do you carry it)? I usually just throw everything into a regular sized backpack. I bring my wallet, cell phone, reservation information, camera, occasionally video camera, a water bottle, and some other things I'm sure I just can't think of right now.. Oh, yeah, park tickets and room keys! And chapstick. I'm a chapstic-aholic. When it comes to rides, I usually just put the backpack in between my legs on the floor and stick a foot through a strap. Unless it's one of the less tame rides; then my Mom doesn't like to ride and she holds all my stuff for me. Have a great trip!!

I haven't been to a theme park in a while, but I always thought they made you use lockers outside each attraction or something like that. What about for the big rides like Rockin Roller Coaster, etc? |

Re: what do you carry in the parks (and how do you carry it)? As little as possible! Even with 2 young children, I just packed a small diaper bag that had the essentials. I figure I'm on vacation, so we buy snacks within the parks, and use our room keys for charges. I do bring a small digital camera and only the video camera if I have something planned to film. When we no longer need the diaper bag, I will probably get by with a hip pack. Or maybe just my room key and a camera. It is so nice not to lug around everything!
