stroller question I have always brought a fold up stroller for my son on past Disney trips. It is a Chicco one that I relly like, but it is a little heavy and the wheels don't fold out of the way enough. This tends to be a problem if we have to stand on a Disney bus. Now that my son is 5, he no longer takes a nap, so napping in the stroller is not an issue. I really just need one to wheel him around in case he gets tired of walking. Can anyone recommend a fairly inexpensive one that doesn't take up a lot of room? My son is rather small and only weighs about 35 lbs. TIA Kim

Re: stroller question I don't have an answer for you, just wondering how David is doing. Have you thought about just renting one from WDW if the need arises? When my daughter was 4,5,6, she usually didn't need a stroller except when we were in Epcot, so we'd just rent one that day. We tried to keep a pace that fits a child's stride so that she didn't get too tired.

Re: stroller question David is doing great. Thanks for asking. He made it through his surgery the Monday of Thanksgiving week just wonderfully. He even went back to Pre-K the following Monday. I had thought about renting one, but I think the hard plastic ones may be a little uncomfortable for his back, but it may be an option. Thanks

Re: stroller question There are lots of umbrella strollers out there that might be good for your needs -- it's been a long time since I've been in the market, so I don't have any suggestions. I just wanted to add that having a stroller to get a tired kid out to the buses and then from teh bus to the resort is a good thing! Good luck and have a terrific trip! Eileen

Re: stroller question We never even used one for our kids (3 & 4). They walked the whole time. When we did rent a stroller one day, they complained about riding around in it. So we didn't rent one the rest of the time we were there. Michael

Re: stroller question We have a chicco one, thats an umbrella type stroller, not heavy or bulky, and comes with a carrying case and strap, we used it on our past trip to disney, it was fine on the buses, and its roomy too, pretty wide in the seat. Was about 30-35 dollars at babys R us. We are bringing it again in April when we go this year. And they comes in a few different colors.

Re: stroller question We have a Chicco Caddy, which came with it's own carrying bag, and rain cover. I think it was $35-$40, and it's light and folds up tight like an umbrella stroller. It's made many trips with us to Disney so far, and hasn't let us down

| Re: stroller question I can't remember the price, but when we were at DTD, about a month ago, there were strollers for sale at Once Upon A Toy, near the train display. I don't remember them being too expensive. I just kept it in mind for emergencies. We took a small fuzzy blanket with us for the kids to sleep on in the plastic strollers. Good luck! | Re: stroller question My son is tiny for his age (6) and we didn't bring a stroller. (he has also been in p.t. for gross motor) By the end of the first day, he was tired. We went to the local Walmart and got one much cheaper than the gift shop ones. On our last day, we gave it to a family on the mono-rail. They were so excited, it was like we were Ed McMahon. They promised to "pass it on" before they left. I would bring an umbrella stroller. And while he didn't always ride in it, my son was much happier at the end of the other days. |

Re: stroller question I don't really have one to recommend, but I'd bring one that you feel comfortable using and that you find easy to fold. I know I'm already thinking about strollers for our 2008 trip, but we'll be driving so I won't have to worry about folding it for busses.
