| My sister and brother where there over Columbus day weekend last Fall, and they didn't seem to think it was too bad. There was a huge wait for Soarin at Epcot but there always was at that time last year as it was a popular new ride. I'm a little curious myself as our last day of the trip we're planning this Fall is the Saturday before Columbus day. I'm wondering what would be a good thing to do our last day there if the parks are total gridlock? Go check out downtown disney, maybe???? |

| The Saturday before Columbus day is our last day there also! It is a 3 day holiday - so you might have some people closer to FL make a trip to Disney for it. It might be a little heavier on Sat and Sun- but I figure most weekends there are. It should be a great time to go!

| Glad to hear a fellow passporter will be there when we are! We're arriving Sat the 29th and leaving the following Sat the 6th staying at Pop. How long are you and your clan staying? Hope we bump into you somewhere along the way. We went last year Oct 21 - 26 and had wonderful weather and light crowds! Hoping for the same thing this year. Brent |

| It might be worth checking into a service that would tell you which parks to go to on which days such as touring plans or tour guide mike. I haven't used them myself, but I'm going to for our May trip.

| Last time we went, Columbus Day fell on the first full day we were there, I didn't put two and two together right away, but that day was MUCH busier than the rest of the days that week. |

Thanks for your replies everyone, it sounds like there won't be too much in the way of crowds.

| I was trying to book standard view rooms (needed two 2BR units) at BVW for Columbus Day week and I was waitlisted. This was about 10 days after my 11 month booking window. After no news on the waitlist for 4 months I switched to the week before Columbus Day (leaving the day before Columbus Day) and had no problem getting the standard view. So while it won't be Christmas busy, it will still be busier than your average October week. It would probably be good to plan around those dates, maybe not try to do the headliner rides those days. We will be there Sept 30 to Oct 7. We're going with family, and one of my son's best friends will be there, too. Should be great! Food and Wine festival, DDP, pool weather, ahhhhh. Beth |

| Thanks for asking this question! We will be at WDW over Columbus Day, too. It is the first Monday of our vacation, and I was a little worried about how attendance would be affected that weekend. Doesn't sound like it will be too unmanagable! ![]() |
