We always start out at Epcot, for one because we love the rides there, but for another it seems to us to be the least crowded park (or easiest to handle, anyway) so we kind of ease into being around the other people. After that it's on to Magic Kingdom on day 2, because let's face it, you can't stay away from the Magic Kingdom for long. The worst park to go to first in my opinion is HS because people LOVE to cut in line at TOT and RnR - not a good way to start a vacation.

We always hit EPCOT first because we arrive on saturday. We are able to hit spaceship earth and a couple lands that day. We save test track & mission: space for later in the week. The lines at MK would be long already if we went there first plus EPCOT may be a let down for kids after MK.

MK is my favorite so I always go there first. When DD is older (she's only 2 now) I'll give her a say so and let her set the schedule based on her favorite parks (I'm not a big fan of AK or DHS, so those two aren't even on my radar until she's old enough to care about them). But until then, MK is my favorite. I go in and walk directly to the castle to watch the stage show.

Speaking of favorite parks and letting your kids choose...we've been taking our kids about every 2 years since they were really small. Next trip they will be 14 and 18, and every time we go the favorite park changes! Believe it or not the last time the favorite was AK! I think it was because we went in winter and the weather was so much more comfortable than when we had been there in summer. Since we are going in the summer next time, I am guessing it will not be the favorite this time, as AK seems to get especially hot for some reason.

For my family, a trip to the World can't officially begin until we see the castle. So it's always MK for us, even if it's a quick evening visit to see the parade and fireworks. The rest of the trip is planned according to anticipated crowd level.

We jump all over the place (we usually go for 8 to 10 days). We usually start at AK though

even if the crowd calendar says it's going to be overly crowded I just have to visit the Castle first thing...

the rest of the trip - save for the last day - we follow by crowd numbers... last day is also typically the MK... though we didn't do that last year...

Our first family trip, we went to Epcot first (it was the only time we would get to see Illuminations). On our second family trip, we headed to the MK first. It was just how the schedule worked for us. My kids are a little bit older now, and have been twice, so for our next trip, I will probably ask them which park they would like to visit first and see how it goes!

Not sure why or how, but our family tradition is always DHS, with The Great Movie Ride as our first ride!

We do EPCOT first, then MGM the next day. We always seem to hit the MK on a Wednesday!

For us it is, most always, MK on our first and last days. Epcot is second, DHS third, AK fourth, then usually back to Epcot for another day.

Depending on how many days we've got, we will usually have a day scheduled in where we go and do anything at DHS or AK we might have missed during the day then just "pick a park" for the evening . . . usually it is MK.

We went to AK first because our book said it was the least crowded park for the day and well it was crowded and hot and not what the kids really wanted. I think if we go again then I would probably start with Epcot, just becuase it has some slow paced stuff to easy into the experience. My mistake was to take them on new never experienced rides and it freaked them out. It took my 6 year old three days before it wasn't make it stop; I don't want to it's scary.

It depends on the days that you are going. Check out the crowd calendar for the specific week you are going at either tourguide mike or touringplans.

I would personally save Magic Kingdom for later in the trip, as I don't think the other parks will measure up to it if you do it first.
