Nick hotel: Before or after Disney?

I can't decide if we should do Disney for 8d7n or 10d9n. No real way to argue either point. Then tonight I was thinking, we could do the 8d7n and 2n at Nick hotel. (we can't do 10d9n + 2n due to DH having to return to work).

My first thoughts were to do Disney first, check out and go over to Nick hotel. But now I'm wondering if it would be better (excitement factor important) to do Nick first, then Disney. Decisions, Decisions, Decisions. haha (I should put that in my siggy cause that seems to be my theme )

We're doing Nick Hotel for three nights, and then checking into the BWV for the rest of our trip in a few weeks.

I was going to split our vacation between Disney and Universal. I had my 7 night reservation at WL and I had 2 nights at Portofino Bay at Universal. I just wasn't feeling it! So I cancelled Portofino Bay and made a 2 night reservation at the Beach Club. Now I am happy and "feeling it".

IMHO if you are not going to spend the whole time at Nick Hotel I would not waste the money. The water slids close at about 6 or 7. I think that the rate was way too high, even booking it about 10 months before we went it was still about 200.00 a night. You have to ware a band the whole time you are there and it makes you feel like you are in the hospital. The food was good at the restrant though. The other down fall was that you can only get Universal things at the hotel...really no Nick stuff at all. If i had wanted Universal things I would have gone to Universal.

But with all that said...I would say do it before your stay at Disney. That way Disney is a pick me up if Nick is a downer. We stayed before Disney and we were glad we did, US Air employees stole stuff from our bags and had to buy new.

My nephews compare everything to Disney and in theire words...This is NOT Disney.

I do plan for us to stay at the hotel the entire time. ex: get there afternoon, sleep that night, "play" all day next day, sleep, then check out next morning.

Good thoughts about doing it first. ....... it just looks "cool". But 2 days at Disney is cheaper then 2 days at Nick thats for sure. It's $243 a night for the suite I would choose, and those are rates for now, not in 10 months. I think the kids would like it. But then I think about the reasons we aren't going to TL or BB, the little kids are too small for the slides, etc. They wouldn't be able to get the full effect of staying there at the Nick hotel.

Sorry to ramble on while I process these thoughts.

I would go there first, then head for Disney - that way, there's still something to look forward to after you finish there.

The only thing about doing Disney first is the advantage of Disney's Magical express. If you are getting a car then I say do Nick first!

I agree with the other PPers, I would do Nick first, then Disney. We stayed at Universal once a couple days at the start of our trip, then moved to WDW. I like ending the trip at my happy place!!

We always do it after Disney. Although my boys love Disney, they love Nickelodeon just as much and if I went there first if would be hard to leave because they like it there just as much. Besides after our whirl wind trip through Disney its nice to just relax and wind down for a couple of days.

ONE time, and one time only, did we do Disney first and then something else and I would never do it again. The first week we spent at Diseny and the following week we toured the rest of the state and I was almost crying like a baby in front of my husband, wishing I was back at Disney. If I could do it all again, I'd do the other stuff first and SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST!
