| I commend you for handling it so well despite the huge disapointment. The hurricane sure did cause a financial hardship for many people. Having never lived through a hurricane, it is hard to comprehend the impact on each individual family. We don't hear about all these effects (except when Katrina hit) and I am very sorry and wish you all the best as you repair your home and lives. ![]()

| I had to cancel our Dec trip in June due to other reasons. I rescheudled for May 09 and am working towards that date. Had I not cancelled, the financial burden Hurricane Gustav put us in may have impacted our trip as well. I def understand about the costs. Try to reschedule so you'll still have a trip to look forward to! |

| I agree rescheduling, even if not officially, is one way to look at it. As for christmas at home - if food is going to be an object it's time family get involved and help out. Potlucks are always fun. Do you have any other family in the area that can help? My grandparents and Aunt trade back and forth who has Christmas Day and who has Christmas Eve. My parents and my cousin's family drive in and stay with us (well the cousin stays with the g'parents since my aunt is on my mom's side lol) but everyone contributes. that being said we haven't had any big hurricanes or anything, but with gas being so high we're all strapped for Christmas fundage. It may be a bit more meager this year, but it's still a heck of a lot more than most have.

| So sorry to hear about your "postponing". Please don't get it in your head that it's cancelled. I can totally understand what you're going through. We recently had to do this as well. Lots of for a re-scheduled trip.

| So sorry about the trip. We also had to cancel our December trip. It was going to be our first Christmas with Mickey. I am a self employed consultant who has enjoyed a phenomenal business the past seven years with all Disney trips paid with cash but 2008 has been devastating due to the economy. We just don't feel it is wise to spend on Disney right now with things so uncertain in our world. Our kids are older - 16 and 11 - and are able to understand more fully that things happen and we need to be more frugal. I hope another trip is in the works soon. We know we want to see all of the holiday decor at Disney. My son's 13th birthday will be the day after Thanksgiving next year and with the 2009 free on your birthday campaign, it gives us a reason to go back.
