Disney Visa REwards Cards

I read somewhere that you can get the money you've earned put onto a card while you are in the parks or at DTD. IS that true or should I rush to order one now? Where can you get it done? If I have a card from last year, can I just have the money transfered to that card or do I need to get a whole new one?
Thanks so much!

The cards expire as do the points. If you already have a card see what the expiration date is. If it is still good you can just transfer the points onto it. It takes a couple of weeks to get a new card so if you need one plan for the mail time to get it.

To get a rewards card while on property, go to one of the places where they will transfer your active rewards to a rewards card that you can use. I called Disney about this last Fall and was given this info:

Downtown Disney - by the AMC theatre
Downtown Disney - behind Ghirardelli's
Magic Kingdom Guest Services outside the park
Magic Kingdom Guest Services inside City Hall

They can issue a card within a few minutes (with photo ID and the Disney Visa card). Then call 800-300-8575 and go through the prompts to get to the Rewards menu. Then press 0 to get a rewards rep who will transfer the points to the card within 2 minutes.

Good luck and enjoy those rewards!
Eileen

PS - they may have added more places, so you could also call Chase and inquire!

We just went to disney in June and used 200 of our "points/dollars" to buy souviners. They send it to you on a disney card and it is like a disney debit card...

BTW...you get a discount if you use your chase card. I got 10% off at downtown disney when we went shopping AND..there was a special place for Disney Chase cardholders to go at Epcot to have a visit with characters. We saw Minnie and goofy-just like in our picture.
