| I’m going to ditch my DH at Disney... My DH wants to sleep in so I was thinking about heading over to MK or DTD (in the early morning) and doing some shopping. He HATES shopping so I thought that this might be a good idea. I’m sure DH can meet up w/ me later (especially w/ the easy WDW transportation). I was planning on doing this just once during my trip. Have you ever went solo and met up later w/ your family/ friends? |

| That sounds like such a great plan! We take turns leaving alone while the other stays with the kids for nap time in the afternoon. I did DTD once and also did some shopping in our resort 1 day.

| Yeah mom and I are going to do that on our upcoming trip. She'll probably head back to the resort, or to a hammock at the Poly, to read and veg while DD and I hit MK for some shows and rides. Mom likes the parks but she also likes her down time. Likewise, I'll probably leave DD with mom and go get a massage at the GF or something.

| DS and I ditched the rest of the group (DH, DSil and DH's Buddy) one afternoon. We were all making each other crazy, so it seemed like the best plan for a while!

| Yep, just did that on this last trip. While DH was golfing 3 different times, I was off with the kids. He met up with us later. It worked out just fine!!

| I did this on my last family trip - twice! I even left all four kids with DH. Of course, they were all sleeping because it was a.m. EMH. Another day I took two kids and left two kids. I always came to get them and we'd all go off together. I'd recommend it if you can do it, but keep in mind that you may feel guilty that you're there and they're not! I found that I couldn't completely enjoy myself, but I was still glad I did it. If you go to a park, definitely get Photopass pictures taken of just you!

| I think it sounds like a great idea! I have done this - and it makes my dh happy - and me too!

| Yep. My parents golf and I don't. So when they bring their clubs, they golf in the am and I usually park hop and do the things I know they won't/can't do (I've been known to hit all 4 parks before noon!) . We usually meet up for a late lunch and then havve the rest of the day together.

| It doesn't happen often with DH but I'm gradually adding on more oportunities. He wants what to see every set of BI. So I run off and do other stuff and then grab a spot for Illuminations which he hates to wait for. We're doing a party for the first time this year. I'm a night owl and he's not. We're working in some down time before the party but if he gets tired ~ I've told him that I know my way home.

| I did this once when DH wasn't feeling well and I really enjoyed my "alone" time.

Specifically, after we do one day in each park, we have an "Every hominid for itself" day. That evening, we've 8pm seats for the Spirit of Aloha luau, but up until then, we each can go our separate way. I'm actually leaning towards going off-property, and hitting Universal Studios, myself. DGF might join me, but right now is leaning towards scouring the other resorts for "penny squishers" (she loves those, as souvenirs - and what with WDW having so MANY of them ...). Our third Musketeer is probably going to do a waterpark or two ... not something I or DGF are interested in, so a day apart is the perfect time for that. Both DGF and our friend have cell-phones, and I'll be getting a prepaid phone myself (I normally don't have any need for a cellphone) ... that way, we're always able to get ahold of each other from anywhere, at any time, to coordinate getting back together after splitting up. | On one of our trips DH was tired and wanted to watch golf. So I went off own my own and walked around Epcot and was able to take my time looking for souvenirs to take back home. It was really nice. |
