| Disney's Free Birthday Park Entrance Is it just me or is anyone else disappointed about Disney's announcement for 2009 that you get free entrance on your birthday? For people that live close to WDW and may be going for just the day, I guess it is great. But if you are going on vacation and purchasing a package or multi day ticket, you really aren't saving much money. Everyone knows that each additional day you add on to your multi day ticket is minimal. Maybe I am not getting it but I thought with the economy the way it is they were going to do something a little more spectacular to get people to go down on vacation. |

| i am not positive, but i think if you already have a ticket, they have other things you can get on your birthday like fast pass for the park, or merchandise the equivalent of a one day admission. look at the details and see if this is correct...that is my take on it anyway, but i do have an AP and maybe it is just for AP holders....worth it for you to check on anyway! have a great time...hope you get some extras with your trip! |

| if you have a multiday ticket or package, they are offering a small gift instead. I personally am excited about this. DH and I were already planning on going for my b-day. We were planning on doing just a part day on my birthday because it also falls on the day Universal is doing Marde Gras. This works out great for us so it's 1 less ticket to buy.

| They do!I'll have to dig up the announcement of those items, but I think they include a Disney Gift Card in the amount of a one-day ticket for the birthday person. Or you can select a special FastPass that would allow the birthday person and 5 of their guests to enter the FP lines for the rides in that park -- I'm not sure if it's all day or if it's like the Dream FPs of the Year of a Million Dreams promotion. I believe there are other options as well... Eileen

| I think it's a neat announcement and I guess we have to remember that they probably won't do huge celebrations every year... more's the pity.

| You have three options for your birthday. Remember though- you must prove it's your birthday for any of these. A birthday fun card in an amount equal to the price of a Walt Disney World Resort 1-Day Magic Your Way Base Ticket** or a Disneyland Resort 1-Day/1-Park Ticket** for you to use on their birthday for merchandise, recreation or fun activities, as applicable, at select participating locations at the Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort; or A special birthday FASTPASS badge*** for certain attractions at the Theme Park they visit on their birthday; or A Walt Disney World Resort 1-Day Magic Your Way Base Ticket* or a Disneyland Resort 1-Day/1-Park Ticket for them to use any time until their next birthday. **Based on ticket price of Walt Disney World Resort 1-Day Magic Your Way Base Ticket at the gate, excluding tax, or ticket price of Disneyland Resort 1-Day/1-Park Ticket at the Main Entrance ticket booth. Adults receive card in the amount of an Adult ticket, children (3-9) receive card in the amount of a Child ticket. For terms and conditions of the card and details on participating locations and applicable activities and services that may be purchased with the card, visit disneyparks.com/birthdayfuncard. ***The number of birthday FASTPASS badges issued is limited and may not be available after 11 a.m. Valid Theme Park admission required. FASTPASS badge for birthday celebrant and up to 5 members of his/her party.

| My big disappointment is that they're only rewarding those celebrating birthdays, even though the theme is "What will you celebrate?" I wish they had something special for people celebrating other things, like anniversaries!

| I was somewhat disappointed in the announcement. Not everyone plans to take a vacation on their birthday. My birthday usually falls around Memorial Day weekend, and it does in 2009. I prefer to stay home away from the crowds, no matter where the destination.

| I fully agree with you! My birthday is Christmas Day so this announcement does nothing for me, because I'm certainly not going to Disney on Christmas Day. I knew it wouldn't be anything like the YOMD but I had hoped it would be something a little more dear than what it is. Oh well. C'est la vie!

| Although I'm happy to hear that they will do something in place of free admission if you already have a ticket, etc., I still think having to be there on your birthday leaves out most people. That's just my opinion. |

| We'll never be able to go on our birthdays due to timing. However, I will be there for my anniversary in 2009. The first day of our trip is my anniversary. (May 24th) I already had this planned before the annoucement for next year's theme. |

| I agree that this leaves many people out. I would never consider going to WDW on my birthday (July 6th). Between the crowds and the heat July is a definate no no with me.

| What about the ones (like me) that will be celebrating my 40th birthday at Disney, but just not on that day. We are limited on the times we can go, and it will be a week before my birthday. I'm not to excited about this annoucement either.
