The Busses on property

Some were saying that the busses are running more infrequently. We are leaving in 8 days and I was wondering if anyone has just retruned from the parks. Were there longer wait times for the busses and how did it all go?

We were there until 9/10 and had no problems with the buses at all.

I've heard that too...with prices of gas and such. But, it seems no one is having problems. Luckily, we're going at a decent time...not holiday or anything.

We haven't been there since December, but it seems like some people are finding the busses to be more infrequent, and others are not. So I'm guessing it's just the normal random variation.

Disney is such a big consumer of gasoline that I'm guessing they have some special deal to purchase it in great quantities -- they may even have contracts that keep their prices within a certain range or with a limited profit margin based on the volume they are purchasing.

My guess is that they are doing more things to reduce consumption (like simple practices in driving, keeping tires inflated, etc) rather than reducing the number of buses. Or, if they are, they are only doing it a little -- as guest satisfaction is HUGE for Disney and is the cornerstone of many of their decisions and practices.

Their new bus system (GPS & dispatching procedures) went in a year ago and has worked well, IMHO, during my December and June trips this past year.

Bus availability is always a hit or miss thing. I find it to be particularly an issue:

1) In the middle of the day
2) Going from park to park
3) At resorts that share buses (BW/BC/Swan/Dolphin, or POFQ/POR, or GF/Poly/Cont)
4) During peak times when the buses fill up at the earlier bus stops and don't make it to the ones at the back of the resort (only a problem in the mornings)

Just plan for a minimum of 30 minutes to wait on any given bus and you'll be pleasantly surprised most of the time.

We just got back and didn't have any problems getting around. Be flexible and you may be pleasantly surprised. We skipped the long line for the boat to MK to hop onto the Contemporary boat. We were able to ride in the front cab of the monorail with the driver all the way to MK! Way cool!

We went in July and the only problem we encountered was getting to Downtown Disney from our resort, caribben beach, immediately after a storm. The D.D. buses were backed up at Typhoon lagoon, so we ended up waiting an hour for the bus. ( Good thing we left early to begin with ) Once we got on the bus was crammed since it was the first downtown bus for a while. That was our only major problem with the buses.

I was at POR last week and had minimal problems with the busses. I would say service was good for the most part. Thursday night leaving DHS was the worst. There were probably around 300 in line for the bus and it took them a while to get us out.

use the car if you don't wanna wait at all. although at mk, you gotta take something over to get to your car which is a pain in my book. i don't mind waiting for the buses as a rule, but then again, i have no child or hubby issues when i am there!!!!!! and i am very patient.....

I had a 55-minute bus ride from BW to MK on our trip this past August.... Stopped at BW, Swan, Dolphin, Yacht Club, Beach Club then went to the Magic Kingdom.
