| I have done all of my previous vacations for seven nights. However, the upcoming mom and son trip, I am toying w/ the idea of doing four nights to minimize the number of days I'll have to take my ds out of school. I know four days doesn't sound like much school to miss (one day would be Labor Day) but just missing three would seem much better when I have to explain to my ex that I am, yet again, taking ds out of school for WDW. Like he should really care, he hasn't ever taken him anywhere (I think there is a whole other thread for that discussion! So anyway, I digress; the question I have is, would four nights be enough? the last day would be a travel day so it would be Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, then Sun travel. I just don't want to regret not taking a whole week.

| I wouldn't worry about the first week of school. They don't really do all that much, maybe talk about what they did in the summer, a little review. I'd go for the week! When our kids were little we would take holidays that first week, and it was fine. They didn't get behind at all. I think the first and last week of school are the best time if you are pulling them out.

I am a teacher and couldn't agree more! You're already worrying & feeling like it's not enough (travel day doesn't count ) So add 1 more day and relax! Your son is only young once & Vacations are special times together! Make those Magical Memories while you can! ![]() As far as the EX....Oh well! ![]() When you start that other Thread...let me know. ![]() I did many Mom/Son trips & still do. | I agree too. We're taking dd out about 4 weeks in and I hope they;re still doing review then!!! In 07 we did 4 nights- Monday to Friday. It really was one of the best trips ever....we didn't do everything obviously, but we did all our favorite things. We got a decent flight in and got to MK by like 4 ish. Spent a full day at MK, DHS, and AK and departure day we spent at E...had to leave by 1 ish.

| I went for 4 days last year on a trip that included staying in the camp grounds for a few days in my MIL's motor home, visiting with DH's grandfather in Port Orange (he's 95, gotta visit grandpa whenever possible) and then down to the keys to spend some time with my father in law and step mother in law. I would have loved a full vacation but it was enough of a Disney fix to get my by till my next trip 4 days wouldn't be nearly enough imo for a first trip but for off years it would do. I'm planning on a long weekend next year for my 40th b-day. DH said I could spend it in WDW |

| I think you'll be fine, especially as it's not your first time. It will give you a chance to just sample Disney and I'd rather take a few days than none!

| I can never have enough days at WDW, lol--even after our longest trip ever this Spring (9 nights) I wanted more. But with that said, most of my trips have been 4-nighters and they are very fun and you can get alot done in that amount of time.

| 4 Nights is a great time--- not too long, not too short, but enough to enjoy, get a fix, feel refreshed and ready to face the real world again. It's not even about what time of the school year your DS will be missing... it's about spending some awesome time with mom in a place you both love! Go enjoy the time!
