I haven't used one in the past but I wouldn't totally rule out using a TA in the future if I found a good one that specializes in WDW.

I can see why doing it myself would be fun. I have used a TA the last trip and our upcoming trip. She is really great however I feel that I probably drive her crazy.

Unless the AAA discount is the best thing going, I book it myself. I like the ability to view my reservation on line and make changes myself. If you use a TA, they have to make any changes to your reservation. If you are not the type of person to monitor for Disney promos, I would go with a travel agent that specailizes in Disney travel. Many of them will monitor your reservation and apply any promos that will save you money.

Like mcc1303 and muffinator, I book with AAA. The deals aren't usually out yet when I book, so at least I know I'll get the AAA discount at a minimum (plus I got $150 in gift cards for booking at their travel show). My AAA TA is great, but I always know about the deals before she does. Each vacation, I don't end up using the AAA discount (usually because of free dining), but she's great about running numbers and making changes promptly. And we like the couple perks - I asked my DH if we should book through AAA again, and he said he didn't care as long as he got his Diamond Parking Pass. Um, Honey, it says AAA right on the pass, so I'm guessing you want me to book through them...?

We also did both it depends who has the better deal ! I some times find codes or there is a special going on. But I find that when I deal with a TA I feel like I am bothering them when I change things. So I tend to want to deal with Disney when we go. This time I missed the buy 4 get 3 special this summer so we went with AAA for at least alittle taken off. I try to save where ever I can my husband gets a kick out of me ! Thare is NO WAY I'm going to pay full price ! Good luck hope you find some deals !

I love being in control so I book it myself. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences doing it this way. Our upcoming trip I have changed 4 times with no problems.

I work with a TA that specializes in Disney. She keeps an eye out for deals and discounts and makes sure everything goes smoothly.

You should never feel that way when using a TA! My thoughts are that this is what I'm here for - to make changes, suggestions, share my thoughts and experiences and to help my clients plan. Some clients like to make their own ADRs, some want me to do it, some book their own air - everyone is different and I respect that.

I do it myself. Count me in as another one being a slight control freak about these things. Besides it's part of the fun!

Great to know that. We usually think about working with someone close to home or booking myself everything. aticularly because I live outise US - so I end up booking everything using internet tools, but I´ll probably check this next time!!!

Used to book ourselves but now use a TA. I like not having to worry about everything. We used AAA for our last trip in March and our TA was horrible. This trip coming up in Sep we are using a Disney specialist TA from Mouse Fan Travel that posts on these boards and she is awesome!!

I also use a TA from Mouse Fan Travel, and they are the best. I love the fact that they will book any ADR's that I want to have.

I hear that from my clients all the time, they always say "I feel like I'm driving you crazy". I don't feel that way at all . Just like you said, that's what I'm here for. We are here to take all of the hassle out of making changes and applying promo codes. I want my clients vacation to run as smoothly and as magically as possible! That's my job and I it!
