| When it comes to WDW travel I do not purchase insurance. I do this because usually Disney is very easy to work with when it comes to cancellations or rescheduling and because the price ticket is fairly low. Airlines are usually not so easy to work with, but the fee to change flights is most of the time is reasonable and comes out to the same if not slightly more/less than it would to have insurance. Now if we were staying longer than a week and/or it is costing a substantial amount of money (meaning more than we usually budget for a vacation) then I might consider it depending on the situation. I did purchase insurance for our upcoming cruise because it was expensive and I wanted to be covered if anything were to happen. However I have never felt the same need to purchase insurance for a regular WDW trip.

| Hi and welcome to the boards! We always do, but that's because it's international travel for us and, if anything happened to us while we're abroad, we like to be covered. I know a lot of people don't for Disney holidays, but I'd always rather have the cover than not...

| We always purchase travel insurance for WDW. We like to know we are covered and frankly when we are spending 4-6K on a vacation, I cannot afford to be out that money. For us it is about $133 and well worth it. Also, as my dad had a stroke less than a month after our trip in March, we realized that anythng can happen. If that had happened right before our trip, we would have had to cancel.

| Here's my opinion: Yes, purchase insurance if you are a family with young children (because they always seem to get sick at just the wrong time) or if you live in a snowy part of the country and you're traveling during the winter months.

| We purchased travel insurance for the first time for this upcoming trip, because of a few reasons: #1 DH's mother is in failing health... #2 this is our first time traveling in winter time... #3 this is the first time we purchased a package, we usually have AP's and purchase everything separately and therefore don't have to have everything paid for before we arrive, so we would be able to cancel without much of a penalty at a late date if we had to. I think it's a personal choice! Paula |

| Hi! I would get the insurance just in case anything happens and you don't end up going. Have fun!

| We never used to but I started last year when we went during hurricane season. I just feel more comfortable with insurance. I don't get the Disney insurance because I found cheaper insurance online.

| First, to the boards!!Second, the only time I purchase insurance for DH and I is on our airline tickets. Unfortunately, our experience has always shown that the cost of the insurance offered by the airlines at the time of purchase is about $15-30/per person whereas the change of ticket fee, should we need to reschedule, etc., is about $150/per person! Big difference and that's why I add on the extra coverage. ![]() I have never (knock on wood! Good luck in deciding and happy planning! ![]()

I get ours from CAA, it's cheaper then WDW insurance. I get medical, trip cancellation/interruption.

| We did b/c we purchased air and WDW separately and are staying an additional week on the coast. Given that we're traveling in Dec and have to fly from Maine, it gave me peace of mind.
