| Chores = Disney Dollars Just had to share this little thing that my husband decided to do with my kids. Kids LOVE to have their own spending money and for this trip I REALLY didn't want to have to say no to all of the crap that they will want to buy!! So we came up with this. We have made a list of "Spring Cleaning" chores that we (husband and I) HATE doing. Now this is above and beyond their normal chores. AND I even added- "No fighting with each other for an entire week = $20.00" LOLOLOLOLOL - I KNOW that will never happen!!! For every chore they do that is on the list there is a $$ amount attached to it. If they do that chore they will get that $$ amount in Disney Dollars. Now they aren't REAL Disney Dollars, those are hard to come by now. SO I printed out a bunch of the Disney Dollars that I found on Google and cut them out. When the chore is complete and not done half bum, then either myself or my husband will sign off on it. They will then be given the payment in these counterfit Disney Dollars. I have taken someones idea about getting a glass jar and super glueing the lid on and the girls will keep their Disney Dollars in the jar. I told them that they are to treat these Disney Dollars like real money because on the night before we leave they can "break" into their jar and redeem their Disney Dollars for Disney World Gift cards that we will already have purchased. If they don't have the Disney Dollars to give us, then no Gift Card. Now this trip is a total surprise for my girls BUT..... we do have GADGAD vouchers and the girls THINK that they are earning money for that day at the park!! I don't know how well this will work but I can say that my DD10 has already earned $5 Disney Dollars!!

| It's a great idea. But I was wondering how you'd pull it off since the trip is a surprise. But since they know you have the vouchers and will be making a day trip, hopefully they won't get suspicious! |

| We have a chore chart for earning Disney spending money too. The girls know we are saving for a trip, but they don't know when we're going. We keep track of what they have earned and pay them periodically. They made Disney envelopes to keep the money in. I have the envelopes put away and pull them out on payday. It has helped them get a little motivated to help more around the house, but not as much as I had hoped. Though I love when my daughter sees me doing a load of towels and says, "Mommy don't fold those when they're done, I'll do it." |

| Nah!!! They aren't that bright!! Plus all they have heard from me for the last few years about Disney is "Sure we can go to Disney, let's just make a trip to the Orthodontist first and get those braces removed, I can't afford BOTH!!!" and then I tell them "Call Autumn ( my 20yr old) and tell her she can't go to college because you two want to go to Disney instead!!!" I took a class on guilt!!! When the GADGAD came out I told them that this would be the only way we could go to Disney until they are BOTH out of braces!! (DD10 isn't even in them yet!!) So they do know that we ARE going, they just think it is for Christmas time to see the lights (which is true, that is when we will use our GADGAD vouchers) I have told them how much things are in the "world" and if they want t-shirts, huge lollypops, ears, hair braiding, trading pins, etc.... then they would need at least a couple hundreds bucks to get everything that I KNOW they are going to want!! They both went white!! Now if someone would just hit that "Clean out the hall closet "chore on the list, I would be a happy camper!!!

| We do the same thing!! I make up a chore chart. There are chores each day and each is worth like a quarter or fifty cents. She marks off when she does them and at the end of the week we tally it all up...if she does everything, she can earn usually $5 a week. She is saving for BBB!

| Chore chart We've had our son on a chore chart for quite a while. He knows his everyday chores and records them on a magnetic board every night. Through this he gets norally gets two dollars a week. One for church offering, and one for his piggy bank. We've modified this to add a third dollar for the trip, plus some incentives so he can add extra money through chores. He works hard on his cub scouting and we reward him for each of the electives he accomplishes. We got him an ATM style bank for his birthday they he can feed his coins and money into as he collects it. It keeps a running total of his savings, and he gets to see that the money that we pull out of the machine has to come from somewhere. |

| I've been doing the Disney dollars for extra chores for the past 3 years. My kids, DS10, DD8 and DS6 know that this is ALL of the souvenir money they will get. There is no Disney store near us anymore, but my sister works in Philly, so she gets them for me closer to the actual trip. A few nights before the trip, we add up all the money they have earned, and put the actual dollars into their own envelopes, with the amount on the outside. Every day in the parks they know exactly how much they have left, and are much more careful to spend their own money!
