| question about disney over xmas with small children?? Hi all, I am wondering what everyone does if they go to Disneyworld over Christmas. Does Santa just leave presents at home for them? My daughter will be starting kindergarten this year, so it looks like we will have to start changing our planned vacations to more school-schedule friendly times. |

| We also have to vacation around the kids school breaks. I originally considered going over Christmas break last year, but quickly decided other wise when I read about the crowd levels- instead we went over Thanksgiving- much less crowded, great weather, school's out, and all the decorations are up, and cheaper time to visit vs Christmas: Definately something you may want to consider. With that said, Christmas at Disney would be wonderful, I'm sure. During the brief time I was planning to do it, I planned to do a little smaller Christmas than usual (with Disney being the big gift) and to take the gifts with us. That was our plan, but like I said we switched to Thanksgiving- so I didn't get to try it out first hand. |

| I guess my question would be -- what do you do when you travel to other places? Does Santa find them at Grandma's, or leave everything at home?

| we do a combination of presents and some "gift certificates" Depending where in your trip Christmas falls and what types of gifts you give, it works well. New Pj's, shirts, etc are Disney themed and wrapped but less clothes are packed for the trip. Maybe a new digital toy for the plane home, etc. I sometimes will do a photo of something waiting from me at home. Sometimes, it is also easier to ship a box down and take the presents home but ship dirty clothes. I may be paranoid but I do carefully select what presents go in the suitcase versus the carryon. Enjoy whichever time you decide

| I would also ship down a box with "Santa" gifts for Christmas morning. Then you could ship back either your dirty clothes or your souvies and save on the packing. Some people bring/ship a small Christmas tree to decorate the room. You could find an cheaper one and ship that down as well. It would be nice to have a tree in your room for the gifts to go under. Walgreens have had Disney trees the last few years.

| We never spend Christmas at home. We're either at my inlaws or my parents. That said, Santa always makes a stop at our house while we're gone. We open the presents when we get home. The kids basically have 3 Christmases!
